a little story

It took three years. That is 1095 days, excluding a leap years and it finally happened. Morgan didn’t know how to properly comprehend the whole situation. For she was thoroughly convinced that with all the horrors of humanity she had witnessed that her body had long rejected the idea of ever creating new lives. It took a little while and it strained her relationship with Greg, but it finally happened. Positive flashed happily from the plastic tube, signaling the beginning of an anticipated chapter. All Morgan needed to do now was to share the news with her Greg, except they have had an argument two nights ago and Greg was staying at Nick’s house. Morgan hadn’t seen Greg for two days. It was one of the biggest arguments they have had since they got married and Morgan had forgotten how it all started. They were both angry and words were thrown out like knives, stabbing each of them in the heart. Greg stormed out, leaving Morgan in hysteric. She couldn’t sleep for two days. Instead, she drove to Nick’s house. Her heart was racing on the way. She had to make two pit stops to clear her stomach, even though there wasn’t much to clear anyway. When you miss someone so much, your appetite goes out the window. Finally, she reached her destination. The lights were on, a good sign. Morgan knew Nick was working tonight so it meant that she had Greg alone. Nervously, Morgan knocked lightly at first. When nobody answered, she proceeded to a harder force. When the door finally opened, her heart dropped. It wasn’t the brown eyes she loved so much but a semi-naked woman smiling sweetly at her. It can’t be. Morgan thought to herself, trying to calm herself down. Then Greg popped out behind the door, shirtless and Morgan didn’t have to think twice on what had been going on. She turned her heels around, tears clouding her vision. Ignoring the voice calling out her name, she got into her car and drove as fast as she could, running every traffic light she passed by. With the mixture of hormones and a broken heart, Morgan’s rationality was out the window. She simply couldn’t think straight, nor could she stop her car in time to avoid the collision.
