I’ve seen multiple “milso” playlist and they are all old & usually only one genre. I’m only sharing one that I made. Its a list of relatable of songs that I listen to when I’m in that funk. This is also probably good for Long Distance Relationships in general! Bolded ones are personal favorites!
People who romanticize military relationships know nothing about them. There is nothing romantic about being apart more than being together. There’s nothing romantic about missing birthdays, holidays, births and special events. There’s nothing romantic about worrying non stop through a deployment. There’s nothing romantic about crying when you miss their call. I don’t do it because “it’s romantic.” I do it because I love him.
“Why did you get married so young?” I hear it ALL THE TIME.
Being married to the military is a completely different world in general. My husband and I, married at 21, have discussed why in the military culture we all get married “so young”. At 21, these men (and women!) already have more responsibility than some of our friends will have in their entire lives. It forces them to grow up— and in growing up they settle down and realize what is important to them. Same goes for the dedicated military spouse. Committing to a relationship that most of the time is long distance, and ALL of the time is a huge stress, is a very mature thing to do. The 20 year old military couple can not be compared to others— we are a breed of our own. Families and friends will not always understand that. That is why we become such good friends with each other as military spouses. We are family ❤️
So I have a list of songs that I listen to when I’m really missing my boyfriend and they help me feel better. Some are older because my mom showed me some songs she used to listen to when my dad was gone for the Marines. I thought I’d share because I know how hard it can be to find a good song to cry to on harder nights. Also, some are military related songs and some aren’t but they’re about long distance and work too.
