Xena: See how calm the surface of the water is. That was me once. And then … [throws a stone into the lake] … the water ripples and churns. That’s what I became.
Gabrielle: But if we sit here long enough it will go back to being still again. You’ll go back to being calm.
Xena: But the stone’s still under there. It’s now a part of the lake. It might look as it did before but it’s forever changed.

I finished week 7 of the Hygge CAL! It was just embroidery on the part of crochet fabric I made two weeks ago.

Personally I think I would have preferred crocheting the first half of the fabric, then doing the embroidery on it and then crocheting the second part and doing the embroidery on that. I’ve been having a great many fights with the top half of the fabric that was just in the way. Eventually I pinned it together folded up after which it went a little easier.

Still this week is done and it’s getting very pretty! Exactly half way now :)

NaKniCroMo day 1

Today is the first day of NaKniCroMo, National Knitting and Crochet Month. Well, actually it’s super international, but that doesn’t matter much :P It’s an initiative to get us crafting for ourselves rather then others. There is a photo challenge going along with this that I posted last week. I am not quite sure how to post a picture for all the days, but I will be trying to do so!

So the first day is: share your goal!
My goal is to start a sweater I’ve had laying around for a few years now. I cast this on yesterday, just so I couldn’t get around it again :) I am quite excited to start on this, because it will not only be my first sweater, but it also has lace in it, which is something I’ve wanted to try for a while now.

My other goal is to keep up with the Hygge CAL.
