I see these posts about which Snape scene people would have liked to see in the HP movies and everytime I’m surprised. I ask myself, wasn’t that in a movie?? Aren’t they wrong? I clearly remember that scene!
But then I realize that I’ve created such vivid images in my head that I can’t believe that they are just my imagination. I’m not a big fan of those movies so I rarely watch them since I have the best version in my head.
But I know one scene that for sure wasn’t in the movies because I remember reading that roasting scene (don’t tell me that it wasn’t a roasting match between Snape and Black when Snape announced that he would have to teach Harry occlumency) and it ended with this scene:
The kitchen door opened and the entire Weasley family, plus Hermione, came inside, all looking very happy, with Mr. Weasley walking proudly in their midst dressed in a pair of striped pyjamas covered by a mackintosh.
‘Cured!’ he announced brightly to the kitchen at large. 'Completely cured!’
He and all the other Weasleys froze on the threshold, gazing at the scene in front of them, which was also suspended in mid-action, both Sirius and Snape looking towards the door with their wands pointing into each other’s faces and Harry immobile between them, a hand stretched out to each, trying to force them apart.
I read it years ago, a translated version which hit me much harder then the English one but I had such a vivid image of this scene in my head that I would give anything to see it properly done in a movie.
The build up to this scene is s amazing, so full of tension, it moves towards higher escalation and then BOOM, the door opens and the frame freezes with shocked faces.
