Luna 2

Luna 2 (E-1A series) was the second of the Soviet Union’s Luna programme spacecraft launched to the Moon. It was the first spacecraft to reach the surface of the Moon and thus the first manmade object to land on another celestial body. On September 14, 1959 it successfully impacted with the lunar surface east of Mare Imbrium near the craters Aristides, Archimedes, and Autolycus.

Luna II was the nickname for Juno, an asteroid parked twelve years ago in a moon-like orbit around Earth. Originally from the area between Mars and Jupiter, humans had moved the asteroid to its present location, opposite the real moon, so it could be used to supply important minerals and landfill to over two hundred colonies.

After years of mining, it retained little of it’s original shape and was now a lemon-shaped lump of rock less than eighty kilometers in diameter.”

23. A large number of ravenclaws flock to the windows every time it rains, and many will run outside in a thunderstorm- either to test how the lightning affects spells, to observe the storm, or simply to dance and goof around in the rain. They’re no longer allowed to hang out the windows or stand on the balconies in ravenclaw tower to stormwatch. Not after ‘The Incident’.

edit: ‘The Incident’ happened the last time Ravenclaw won the House Cup. It involved a handful of 6th and 7th years, a thunderstorm, several psychedelic substances, and a stolen 9-foot tall metal replica of Rowena Ravenclaw’s diadem.

submitted by anon (thank you thunderstorm anon for returning to confirm the nature of The Incident. I will be forever grateful)

I’m sure you guys have noticed by now that mine and my siblings’ towns of Celestia, Luna, and Cadance are named after three of the (cough cough Alicorn) princesses from My Little Pony!

I grew up on the older generations of My Little Pony, and now that G4 is out my siblings and I watch it together! It’s a nice thing to share.

In honor of our towns and the love for MLP that we share, I stayed up late tonight pixeling new flags for our towns based off of their namesake princesses’ cutie marks! I’m pretty proud of them!

I can’t wait to see what Julian and Lizzy think!

Ohh, you actually get to see Gihren prepping on the front lines for this early One Year War happening.
