Lower-Regions

Today is the birthday of one of my all-time favorite cartoonists, Sergio Aragones. I was lucky enough to commission this sketch of Marla the Barbarian from my Lower Regions meeting Groo the Wanderer. Needless to say, if my 12 year-old self ever finds out about this he will wet his C-3PO Underoos.

Rare Roman Mystery Cult Lead Plaque, C. 100-300 AD

The plaque contains a complex iconography of divine figures and Mithraic symbols, probably associated with Thracian or Dacian beliefs of the Lower Danube region where this specimen was found.

A little bit more about these mysterious plaques can be found here.

Hi! I loved your analysis on the baekyeol hug :) Body language says more than words, and that's why I've searched for a frontal Baekyeol hug to see a glimpse of their feelings and thoughts. Usually, when two men hug, there is a small place between their groins. However Baekhyun's lower body is forward Chanyeol and it looks like he is glued to him. If the hug lasted longer it would've definetly be seen as romantic attraction, but unfortunately Chanyeol pushed him :/.

Hello there darling~ <3 Thank you for loving and agreeing with my analysis! Really, I appreciate it very much :”D Yes I do notice that whenever Cy/Bh hugs other ppl their lower regions barely touch with the other person’s.

look at him scooting his butt away lel.

And I also recently observed bc of what you said, Bh and Cy’s groins shouldn’t even be in contact (while clothed, ofc) even if they were to hug intimately. Like in the case of Bh and Kris at the pic above.

Bh and Kris were very close to each other but their groins weren’t that near each other. And that is bc of one crucial reason: height difference.

Which, as we all know, is present in the case of Bh and Cy. But Bh tiptoed while hugging Cy. For what reason? I certainly do not know.

Just look~ The height difference should be a hindrance to prevent Bh and Cy’s groins from being near each other. But Bh TIPTOED. It’s obvious that their groins were parallel to each other ryt? Come on, I’ll provide another pic of Bh hugging Kris and of Bh and Cy’s hug so that we can compare yet again

height difference= distance with le groins

Tiptoeing= Closing le distance. And if u think Bh didn’t tiptoe pls watch the vid of the hug <–link

And yes, it was rather unfortunate that Cy pushed Bh away so quickly. But it wasn’t that bad, bc for me, I thought it signified that Cy was honestly shy abt hugging Bh which is just plain fishy. I can elaborate more but I’ve already said so much abt the hug and abt BaekYeol in general here and most of all here.

But then again darling, some ppl might see this as us “reading too much into things” so I won’t say any more abt the subject of groin being near each other topic keke.

I love knowing what other BaekYeol shippers think abt certain BaekYeol situations. So thank you so much for the message darling~ You were very informative <3 Have a good day! ^^

It was five years ago that I started my epic saga Career Killer. After having so much fun working on my Lower Regions I wanted to do a whole fantasy book, but this time with, you know, talking and a plot and whatever.

I made it the way I have all my books, more or less making it up as I go. Unfortunately, I got about 80 pages in and had to give up. It turns out as much as I love drawing fantasy comics I don’t like writing them (my current career dilemma is finding subject matter that is fun to write and draw, something that’s proving tougher than you may think). I even tried a different format–weekly, one-page chapters with color highlights to make it more web-friendly–but I ran into the same writing problem and the lack of “likes” made me abandon the project a second time (at least this time I only did about 25 pages).

The idea of doing a fantasy comic still lingers in my brain, like a junky convinced he can give it one more try but I resist (I’m currently working on a sci-fi project which will hopefully scratch that fantasy itch).

WHAT I LEARNED ABOUT WRITING / STORYTELLING:This was a wordless comic.  I think because of this – and possibly due to the genre and the playfulness Robinson incorporated into this book – I was never able to connect with the characters.  It isn’t until halfway through the story that one is finally shown what the motivation for the protagonist is, and I think that hurts it.
WHAT I LEARNED ABOUT ART / STORYTELLING:  Because it was a wordless comic, Robinson was forced to rely entirely on the visuals to tell the story, and he managed that very well.  One panel, in particular, showcased how to lead the reader’s eye from one page to the next without sacrificing story-logic.  It is in the final panel of a left-facing page where the protagonist is thrown by a monster.  Robinson has the trajectory of this throw angled up toward the next page and accentuates this by drawing the panel with its top border angled up and to the right, as well, sending the reader’s eye up to the very next panel where the story continues.
RECOMMENDATION: B-/C+
NOTES / REVIEW / SYNOPSIS:  This read like a D&D adventure put into comic form, utilizing the tropes of the dark fantasy genre.  It was well done, in that regard, and there were some inventive storytelling moments, but overall, it felt “lightweight” and isn’t something I expect to re-read.  Considering it’s a wordless book, the $7 price tag could be off-putting, but if you can get it during the annual Top Shelf blowout sale, as I did, it’s worth it.

“ Jun?” You whisper into the eerily quiet apartment. You and your boyfriend were going to spend some time together, but when you got to his apartment, all the lights were off and all was quiet. Carefully walking into the entrance, you slip off your shoes and tip toe around. Maybe he’s sleeping? You walk down the hall and hear heavy breathing. Your eyes widen as you bite your lip nervously, was he hurt or something? His room was dim, the door was slightly open, just enough for you to peek inside. Creeping towards the crack in the door, your eyes adjust to the lighting and you see a figure on Jun’s bed. Your eyes widen as a sudden wave of heat hits your face. Laying on the bed was your boyfriend, his head throw back, chest rising and falling, his hand securely wrapped around his large dick. Watching his hand jerk up and down quickly, your lower region gets warm and you find yourself clamping your thighs together.

“ Y/N!” Jun groans huskily as beads of sweat drop down his jaw. Everything in your body was telling you to run, and yet you didn’t. Your eyes eagerly watch the boy moan and whimper your name out. Finally, Jun gasps loudly as his cock twitches, releasing his milky cum around his hand. Your breath hitches as you gulp down harshly, backing away slightly from the door. You find yourself catching your own breath, before hesitantly watching Jun clean himself up. Being the clumsy person you are, you loose your footing, and face plant into his room, where he whips around and you could clearly hear him holding back a gasp.

“ Y/N? W-what? H-how?” He asks severely confused, but not embarrassed however. You stand back up, seeing him in nothing you look down immediately, your cheeks burning up.

“ Y-you said we were going to do something…” You tried to say. Jun looks at you, a playful smirk on his lips.

“ Did you watch me Y/N?” He asks, his voice coated with lust. You avoid his eyes, playing with your fingers.

“I-it wasn’t my intention…” You start as he chuckles. You hear him walk towards you, grabbing a blanket to cover himself. He takes you chin, pulling up so that you meet his eyes.

“ Well then. I think you owe me something since you invaded my privacy, even if you are my girlfriend.” He said looking into your eyes with a flicker of mischievousness.

“ W-what do you mean?” You ask. Jun smirks again, slowly licking his lips before replying.

“ It’s my turn to watch you.”

I actually am glad you are pointing this out, because that was my first thought, like sure she is going to wear heels and walk this freely with completely smug expression on her face. Everyone is different, but huh, this would be whole new level of different rip

Goblin Week Day 6 (Bonus sketch) - Goblin Pets from The Princess and the Goblin (1872) by George MacDonald.

“They were, of course, household animals belonging to the goblins, whose ancestors had taken their ancestors many centuries before from the upper regions of light into the lower regions of darkness. The original stocks of these horrible creatures were very much the same as the animals now seen about farms and homes in the country, with the exception of a few of them, which had been wild creatures, such as foxes, and indeed wolves and small bears, which the goblins, from their proclivity towards the animal creation, had caught when cubs and tamed. But in the course of time all had undergone even greater changes than had passed upon their owners. They had altered—that is, their descendants had altered—into such creatures as I have not attempted to describe except in the vaguest manner—the various parts of their bodies assuming, in an apparently arbitrary and self-willed manner, the most abnormal developments. Indeed, so little did any distinct type predominate in some of the bewildering results, that you could only have guessed at any known animal as the original, and even then, what likeness remained would be more one of general expression than of definable conformation. But what increased the gruesomeness tenfold was that, from constant domestic, or indeed rather family association with the goblins, their countenances had grown in grotesque resemblance to the human.“

"They were of one sort—creatures—but so grotesque and misshapen as to be more like a child’s drawings upon his slate than anything natural. They saw them only at night, while on guard about the house. The testimony of the man who first reported having seen one of them was that, as he was walking slowly round the house, while yet in the shadow, he caught sight of a creature standing on its hind legs in the moonlight, with its forefeet upon a window-ledge, staring in at the window. Its body might have been that of a dog or wolf, he thought, but he declared on his honour that its head was twice the size it ought to have been for the size of its body, and as round as a ball, while the face, which it turned upon him as it fled, was more like one carved by a boy upon the turnip inside which he is going to put a candle than anything else he could think of.”

“It was like a cat, with legs as long as a horse’s, Irene said, but its body no bigger and its legs no thicker than those of a cat”

Yharnam Drinking Song?

As a prelude to my long-overdue essay about Valtr and his place in the Souls series, enjoy this little creative writing project of mine! I wrote it as a submission to the Bloodborne subreddit’s fan anthology, “The Eldritch Truth.” (More information here: https://www.reddit.com/r/bloodborne/comments/43p3cj/the_eldritch_truth_a_collection_of_bloodborne/. Spread the word! Participate if you can!)

It’s nowhere near completion; I plan to submit four poems and a very short story, compiled together as if they were selections from a larger folklore study. Any response to what I’ve written thus far would be welcome and helpful!

Selections from Verses & Folk-Tales From the Lower Lakeside Region
Recorded and edited by J. Michael Arden

Preface to the First Edition

The poetry, songs, and folk-tales compiled here are gathered from the communities situated in the westernmost valley of the —— Mountains, in the basin of a great inland lake which lies upward from the sea. The city of Yharnam and its adjuvant communities, as well as the settlements originating from the hilly fiefdom of the now-defunct House Cain, owe to their geography a peculiar isolation from western continental cultures. Thus we might aptly judge the queer stories for which this region is famous to be, truly, “outlandish” in nature.

It may be tempting to follow the romantic allure of this Yharnam culture, for all its eccentricity and latent primitivism—yet in the humble opinion of this volume’s Editor, these sequestered races are cursed, not blessed, to stand so far beyond the pale. Let these collected local works be enjoyed from the safety of the hearthside reading-chair, as entertaining diversions from a bygone place.

— J. Michael Arden, Compiler and Editor

“The Blue-Coats Came to Yharnam-Town,” Drinking Song
A tavern song of several variations, often used to toast the peculiar blood-tonics which Yharnamites frequently imbibe alongside regular liquor. Though the form is by no means standard, there appears to be a small ceremony associated with this song’s performance, in which one member of the drinking party consumes a large amount of alcohol or tonic. Sometimes he receives a large glass to himself; other variants involve his finishing off the others’ drinks. This song in particular typifies the startling xenophobia of the Yharnam populace, as well as the unusually prominent place of local wildlife in the city culture.

(verse 1)
The blue-coats came to Yharnam-town,
With their whiskers slicked and their shined-up shoes,
On orders from old Captain Blue,
Who had no daughters left to lose!
(refrain)
‘Cause the beasties came and snatched ‘em up!
Gnashed ‘em up! Snacked ‘em up!
The beasties came and they smacked ‘em up,
To feed their wormy bellies!
(verse 2)
They marched through damp and mud and snow,
The blue-coats with their caps pulled low.
They bumped their heads and they stubbed their toes,
‘Cause the Yharnam stones won’t let ‘em go!
(verse 3)
They marched around the alley-bend
With their shiny swords and their billysticks.
Their soggy shots went click-click-click
When the beastie pounced, and he pounced ‘em quick!
(refrain)
O, the beastie came and snatched ‘em up!
Gnashed ‘em up! Snacked ‘em up!
The beastie came and he smacked ‘em up,
To feed his wormy belly!
(verse 4)
Now Valtr was a tip-top cop;
He wore his blue coat never-stop.
But he seen how Yharnam folk go ‘bout,
And he knew that beast was good as got!
(verse 5)
He circled ‘round that beastie quick,
With a bloody mouth and a bleedin’ eye—
And the beast, it howled! And the beast, it cried!
When Valtr o’ped his jaws so wide!
(refrain)
And the blue-coat went and snatched ‘im up!
Gnashed ‘im up! Snacked ‘im up!
The blue-coat went and he smacked ‘im up,
Down to his wormy belly!
(final refrain)
And a bloody brain just snatched ‘im up!
Gnashed ‘im up! Snacked ‘im up!
The blood inside just cracked ‘im up,
And the worms crawled in his belly!

“—’Ey Krem!” The Iron Bull’s voice, a thunderous boom
even over the sounds of rushing water, startled birds and squirrels
alike from the brush lining the river banks. His horns appeared from
some lowered region of the shore, the broad-shouldered mercenary
still tall enough that his gesticulating arm was visible to Krem despite
the steeply eroded earth. Upon further investigation, he appeared to
be standing in a hole.

“….Krem Puff, do you recall how you’ve been whining about
never getting a proper bath on the road? Well Lookee Here!

Companions reactions to seeing the kinky tatto of sole pls X6 :3

Will Do! Hopefully it wasn’t too bad! Thank you for the request!

**

Piper: When she finds the tramp stamp on Sole, she’s more than surprised. She never thought Sole to have one of those, especially not that low, but doesn’t mind the view. In fact, she uses it as a turn on for later.

Preston: When he finds a tattoo in a certain…area down below, he’s more than shocked. His eyes widen, and when Sole asks what’s wrong, he doesn’t say anything other than ‘wow…’ not out of disgust, out of confusion and arousal.

Cait: When she finds just how close that tattoo is to Sole’s lower region, it’s her new favorite place to lick, kiss, and suck.

Curie: Blushes when she finds such a scandalous pattern of ink on Sole lower back. She hadn’t expected something such as that to be on their body, not that she disapproves, she likes this unexpected side of them.

Codsworth: He’d already known about the tattoo. He had been there when they got it, after having Shaun. They had claimed they wanted it because of all they had accomplished so far, and that’s what it signified. He’d laugh at the irony, he finds that it fits them entirely too well.

Danse: Blushes when he finds the tattoo on Sole’s hip, lower than any other tattoo he’d seen. And different. When Sole asks whats wrong he only blushes more and wishes he could hide behind his power armor.

Deacon: When he sees the tattoo, under Sole’s chest (Female, it’d be under breasts, for Male across the chest.) He smiles, largely. Like he’d just won something. It’s a great excuse to see Sole Shirtless, all he has to say is that he wants to see the inky art.

MacCready: He traces it, once it’s found on the inner thigh, he finds it intriguing. More so kinky and he loves it.

Nick Valentine: When he finds it, he compliments Sole and asks of how they got it. They spend the night together, as Sole retells the crazy story of just how they might have gotten the mystery tattoo. Apparently Sole was just a little too drunk to remember.

X6-88: He doesn’t remark on the tattoo, just tilts his head, and to the surprise of Sole, smirks. He won’t say it, but he believes it compliments them, both are extremely sexy.

Strong: Doesn’t care for the tattoo. He thinks it’s useless.

Dogmeat: Doesn’t ever notice the tattoo, he just likes to play and snuggle with his master.
