I’d never been good in storms, but I was even worse in hospitals, so when the choice came to go visit Nana, my ma’s mother, or stay home and brave the thunder and lightning on my own, I only hesitated for a moment before making my decision.

Charley revisits the cherry blossoms on Sunday along with many other visitors who filled the path taking photos of the blooms. Charley stopped at the low-hanging flowers to appreciate their fragrance. He saw many of his friends and neighbors also in the park enjoying the beautiful kwanzan cherry blossoms. He wanted to stop by before the rain arrives Monday. He hopes the rain doesn’t wash all the blooms away so soon. Central Park, Manhattan, NYC

Charley feels happy and excited running into his old friends and neighbors Sweet Lou and Zazou out for a walk under the cherry blossoms with their mom. Loulou and Zazou are nine-year-old Miniature Dachshunds. It has been four years since they last saw one another — they moved to a different neighborhood six years ago, although they would occasionally see one another in the park. Charley remembered them right away and likewise they remembered Charley.
