Leading-Lines

I was just randomly clicking through episodes and stumbled upon this scene and it’s actually quite underappreciated and very sweet

this obviously happens shortly after their stupid argument over the lost bag of nuts (rest in peace brave soldier) and it’s clear that they’re still a bit tense after that. But Yuuri makes an attempt to break the ice

“What would you like for a gift?” can just as easily be translated to: “I’m not annoyed anymore and would like to put this behind us.” It’s a sweet peace offering, with Yuuri showing interest and care in something that he presumes is important to Viktor.

However

Viktor misinterprets what Yuuri is trying to say and, while answering truthfully, also accidentally dismiss the hand Yuuri reached out for him. It’s a good display of them facing a cultural gap, since Yuuri might have planned to get Viktor a gift in advance and Viktor shoots that wish down. It’s not on purpose! But, speaking from experience, sometimes cultural gaps cause misunderstandings between couples that might lead to hurt feelings

As is also evidently displayed here; Yuuri tries to mend what was hurt in the previous scene, in his own way, and Viktor misunderstands and Yuuri is left feeling rejected and possibly anxious that Viktor is still mad at him

BUT THAT LEADS US TO THE MOST CRUCIAL MOMENT IN THIS SCENE

VIKTOR CLEARLY NOTICES THAT YUURI GETS HURT and immediately tries to make Yuuri feel better in a way that is just as sweet as Yuuri’s own

it’s a line of dialogue that is just as simple as Yuuri’s when he asks what Viktor wants as a gift. “Do you want some hot wine, too?” is basically Viktor reaching out to Yuuri and showing care for his well being and offering to share something of his own with him. It’s simple, it’s sweet and easily leads into the hilarious line about Yuuri not handling alcohol well, bUT IT’S JUST SO CUTE AND THOUGHTFUL

THIS SCENE IS SO GREAT BECAUSE EVEN AFTER AN ARGUMENT THEY TRY TO FIX WHAT WAS HURT BY SHOWING EACH OTHER CARE AND COMPASSION AND IT’S SOOOOO PURE THEY CARE SO MUCH ABOUT EACH OTHER AND THEIR RELATIONSHIP

“People don’t understand the word ruthless. They think it means ‘mean.’ It’s not about being mean. It’s about seeing the bright, clear line that leads from A to B. The line that goes from motive to means. Beginning to end. It’s about seeing that bright, clear line and not caring about anything but the beautiful fact that you can see the solution. Not caring about anything else but the perfection of it.”

- Marco, Book #30: The Reunion, pg. 71 (by K.A. Applegate)

A Daxamite invasion to me is the most hilarious badly thought out invading species ever. Like, most scary alien invasion types are terrifying because human weapons have no impact on them since they’re so advanced and extraterrestrial, so the entire human race ends up relying on the main character of the series to save us.

Daxamites have a strong weakness to lead.

Think about that. They arrive, we shoot them with guns, and it…. works? The president of the US is under attack, she goes to her panic room, which in a high security bunker meant to survive Cold War conditions would be lined with lead. The Daxamites can’t get to her?

Daxamites accidentally land in Flint and die from drinking the water?

I don’t get how this is even a fair fight against the Daxamites at this point???

Can I just say that I just LOVE BD's character design? The balance between the design's likability and interesting characteristics is so perfect. Some people think that her design is a step down but I think it's a gigantic step up. Her sillouette is stronger, her facial complexion gives her more personality, the various sources of inspiration! One of the best in the show imo

i agree with what you said, and let me elaborate!

look at the diamonds we’ve met so far, and how their design says everything about their personalities

first look at the leading lines here. everything about bd’s design seems to be pulling her down, giving her overall posture a very droopy feeling. and what do you know- Blue diamond lives with the ever existing burden of grief, and she allows it to pull her down. literally. she doesnt have many straight lines, or corners for that matter.

in Yellow’s case- many corners. many straights. every time two lines meet it creates an angle. she’s super pointy. she doesnt seem very approachable… well, she isn’t. she’s harsh. and the design tells you that before she even speaks.

this is made super clear when u look at their silhouettes

and the most amazing thing? they have the exact same body type!

it’s the same proportions, but YD is slightly taller b\c heels+hair. (maybe BD is wearing heels too but i doubt it)

you just don’t notice it, because the people who designed them were professionals who clearly knew what they were doing.

Person A of your OTP is a vampire and is next in line to lead the clan. Person B is a lone werewolf who was kicked out of their pack (you decide why). One night, person A goes on a hunting trip by themselves, but end up getting caught in some sort of trap. They are stuck there for however many days until they are nearly starving to death. Person B finds them and, instead of killing them like anyone else from their pack would, they hunt for food for person A and try to help them. Although person A is very unsure/terrified of person B at first, they are so starving that they accept the food with next to no hesitation, despite being raised to never trust werewolves. As person B tries to free person A from the trap, they start to talk and get to know each other, slowly starting to bond with each other. When A is finally free, they ask to see B again in secret, despite the disapproval of their clan. What happens next is up to you.
