For me, what’s dark is where a character will go in their own psyche. It’s not necessarily about stripping someone’s clothes or pulling someone’s eyes out; it’s about how far can you let a character go. That’s what’s attractive about that is she can go to some very questionable places in her own psyche. That’s, to me, the darkness.

Those elements will manifest themselves in David Tennant’s villain Kilgrave, who Loeb describes as having the ability “to push people to do what maybe they would not ever have done — or maybe they would have,” as well as Jessica herself. From here. (And there is more. Go and read it.)

Reasons you should be excited for AKA Jessica Jones
  • Female protagonist WITH super powers starring in her own solo series. (Sorry Peggy, Daisy and Natasha)
  • Jessica Jones drinks, smokes and swears like a sailor.
  • The only white dudes announced for the cast are the villain, and a cop who doesn’t even have a name yet.
  • Jessica is is a trauma survivor who is learning to live her life and find happiness.
  • Luke Cage is being introduced as Jessica’s love interest, before getting his own show. AKA the reverse of Peggy and Steve.
  • Carrie Anne Moss AKA TRINITY from The Matrix is in it, AND playing a queer lady who gets some lady loving.
  • Rosario Dawson’s Claire Temple is totally going to show up for at least a cameo.
  • Interracial romance.
  • Possibly the most vile villain in the MCU. Worse than Red Skull, Ward and Thanos combined.
  • The opening credits are being done by David Mack the famous artist who did the covers for Alias on which the show is based.
  • If the show is successful, it will help pave the way for a Black Widow movie/show/miniseries.
  • AKA Jessica Jones is dark as fuck.
  • Melissa Rosenberg has done some amazing work on shows like Dexter.
  • Marvel’s first solo female show runner.
  • It’s based on Michael Brian Bendis’ critically acclaimed series for Marvel.
  • It’s gonna be amazing

‘Luke Cage’ Is A Man On Fire In These SPOILERY First Official JESSICA JONES Images!

Here we have what appear to be the very first officially released stills from Marvel and Netflix’s Jessica Jones. In them, we see what effect the explosion from those set vids had on Mike Colter’s Luke Cage. Let’s just say they don’t call this dude Power Man for nothing!

Marvel has officially announced that Rosario Dawson will not only return as Claire Temple for the second season of Daredevil, but that a new deal will allow her to appear in any of Marvel’s other Netflix original series, including A.K.A. Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist.

“Working with Rosario in the first season, we knew instantly that we had to have her back for our second. Claire Temple proved a fan favorite in Season 1, and we can’t wait for fans to see all the plans we have for her next,” said Jeph Loeb, executive Producer and Head of Marvel TV.
