Private jets, two maids and a personal chef: The pampered life of Karl Lagerfeld’s pet cat

She is a pampered princess who travels the globe in a private jet, flanked by her loyal bodyguard and two maids who tend to her every need. Her sapphire-blue eyes have inspired a Chanel haute couture collection, and she is a Twitter queen with over 40,000 followers. But then, it’s no wonder life is fabulous when you’re legendary fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld’s beloved cat.

A new book, Choupette: The Private Life of a High-Flying Fashion Cat, lifts a veil on the glamorous lifestyle of the couture kitty, with chapters on her diet, beauty, healthcare, and fashion tips. Written by Patrick Mauriès and Jean-Christophe Napias, the book features photographs taken by Lagerfeld himself, as well as Choupette’s bodyguard and maid. Here CNN shares a selection of images of the pampered puss along with a peek into Choupette’s refined lifestyle as detailed in the new book.

Olka Osadzińska is a footwear illustrator who has two signature Reebok shoes under her belt, with a third coming up. She is also an art director and curator, with her work shown at MoMA Warsaw and in Berlin and Tokyo. This time around, she was inspired by the recently announced and unexpected Hello Kitty x Yohji Yamamoto collaboration, teaming up with Lyst to imagine some fantasy sneaker collaborations herself. The results are stunning and creative, with sneakers we wish were real. Using some of Lyst’s top selling sneakers, the artist paired them up with some of pop culture’s most influential pillars. An iconic pair of New Balances are clad in LEGO pieces, while the Nike Dunk Hi silhouette rocks a Jurassic Park-inspired print. A pair of  Saint Laurent sneakers are inspired by New York City’s Studio 54 resulting in angel-winged white roller blades and gold accents. Balenciaga’s high top shoes pay homage to Jeff Koons, and lastly, white Giuseppe Zanottis don gold hardware and feline features in an ode to Karl Lagerfeld’s cat, Choupette.
