Lego: IMAGINE ads. Beauty of simplicity

Lego’s latest “IMAGINE” ads by German advertising agency, Jung von Matt, takes the concept of simplicity a long way. Using a handful of coloured Lego blocks to recreate a series of iconic cartoon characters that are surprisingly accurately represented, Jung von Matt has produced a series of images of characters that fans are able to identify immediately.

A brilliant campaign. And the ads are going viral. Great.

The only aspect overshadowing the campaign is some controversy around the campaign’s origins. A little research online has surfaced that Jung von Matt’s campaign looks surprisingly similar to an image of a Lego fan’s creation of a Lego’d Simpson family. Adland.tv shows the comparison on their site, and you can judge for yourself.
