A Man’s Man (1929) was a silent William Haines comedy in which his wife, Josephine Dunn, wants to become a movie star and meet Greta Garbo. “Garbomania” was enough of a phenomenon in 1929 to motivate a film; in this case, a lost film.
William Haines and Josephine Dunn, Excess Baggage, 1928
Tagline: “A new Haines, no longer a smart-alec, gag comedian, but an actor who can troop with the best of them. Enhanced by a tremendous musical score played by the 125-piece Capitol Theater Orchestra, New York City.”
