Day 130 - 365 Days of Mel’s Star Wars Junk

The second item I bought on Free Comic Book Day was the book box set of Darth Vader and Son & Vader’s Little Princess by Jeffery Brown. You’ve probably seen various panels from these books on the internets, and they’re adorable and funny. Since I bought the set, it also included two prints (the last two images), which I’ll have to get framed at some point. I’m running out of wall space…

For our first panel at this year’s Emerald City Comic Con, we gathered up a handful of our favorite people in comics and had them make some live recommendations to people looking to dive into comics or just wanting to find some new comics to read…. these are their stories.

What if Darth Vader took an active role in raising his son? What if Luke, I am your father was just a stern admonishment from an annoyed dad? In this hilarious and sweet comic re-imagining, Darth Vader is a dad like any other except with all the baggage of being the Dark Lord of the Sith. Celebrated artist Jeffrey Brown’s illustrations give classic Star Wars moments a fresh twist, presenting the trials and joys of parenting through the lens of a galaxy far, far away. Life lessons include lightsaber batting practice, using the Force to raid the cookie jar, Take Your Child to Work Day on the Death Star, and the special bond shared between any father and son.

Jeffery Brown’s book doesn’t come out until April, i’ve had it pre-ordered for awhile now, but seeing the cover has got me incredibly excited and antsy to read it already!!

I'M FREAKING OUT I JUST FOUND OUT THE MOST AMAZING THING!!! So apparently my uncle works for PBS and interviewed Benedict about the Imitation Game a little while ago, (look up "Jeffery Brown Benedict Cumberbatch) and he may be doing Masterpiece's Sherlock cast interviews whICH I MAY BE ABLE TO GO TO. I JUST FELT LIKE I SHOULD SHARE THIS INFO, ALSO HE KNOWS A BIT ABOUT SERIES FOUR, BUT HE CAN'T TELL ME ANYTHING BESIDES THE FACT THAT IT'S AMAZING WHICH WE ALREADY KNOW

This postcard from Kentucky had me very confused at first.  When I first signed up for postcrossing I bought a box of postcards called “The Cutest Sneeze in the World: 30 Cat Postcards"  by Jeffery Brown.  Each postcard was in comic form featuring silly aspects of cats. This postcard is from the same collection, I was happy to get the same type of postcard that I was sending out!
