It’s around that time of year when kids start getting letters of being waitlisted, rejection and deferment. Just wanted to say hang in there– not everyone’s collegiate path is a strict linear progression. Taking gap years, transferring, going to your ‘B’or ‘C’ school, etc– they’re all completely valid ways to self-discovery and getting to where you want to be. From my own experience, things have a way of working out in the weirdest ways. Just keep your head up & mind open and don’t give up.
Don’t even worry that your body doesn’t look just like that woman on that magazine. Her body isn’t even real, yours is.
Just because you’re “not like other girls” doesn’t make you better than them (by the way, I KNOW you’re just saying that for guys to like you, I know because I used to say that). And of course you’re not like other girls, and they’re not like you either. Everyone is different somehow.
Life does get better (because middle school is trash for everyone)
It’s okay to like things that are different from what other people might like
Stand up for yourself, “No one can make you feel inferior without your consent” - Eleanor Roosevelt
You’re going to drift away from some of your friends that you have right now, but that’s okay, because you’ll make new ones really fast.
You don’t need straight As to be successful
Speaking of straight, you might not be, and that’s ok
That was all...Logan had. His dream of taking Charles out on a boat. They had no plans beyond that.
I mean Logan wanted to kill himself.
I assume he was going to do it after he lost Charles.
Charles was all he had left. There was Caliban, alright, but I think Logan might have found him looking for someone to take care of Charles while he was away. And like Caliban said, his plan of going out to sea didn’t really include him, now did it?
So that dream he had…saving as much money as he could just to buy a boat so that Charles, who’s almost completely out of his mind by this point…
The ONLY dream, the only goal he really had left, the only bright spot in his, their, future?
Yeah I’m sorry.
It kills me. It kills me thinking about it, twelve hours later. I think Logan ruined my week.
