IM SO EMOTIONAL RN

Nico was born in a time where being himself would have been unthinkable and he’ll grow old in a time where his grandkids will go to their grandfathers’ house and listen to old stories about Nico’s quests with an annoying medic tailing him everywhere and his grandkids will just roll their eyes and go, “Whatever you married him.”

and Nico’ll get all misty-eyed and say, “Sure did.”

I wanted to tell them that I’d never had a friend, not ever, not a real one. Until Dante. I wanted to tell them that I never knew that people like Dante existed in the world, people who looked at the stars, and knew the mysteries of water, and knew enough to know that birds belonged to the heavens and weren’t meant to be shot down from their graceful flights by mean and stupid boys. […] I wanted to tell them that he was the first human being aside from my mother who had ever made me want to talk about the things that scared me. I wanted to tell them so many things and yet I didn’t have the words.

Teravainen said he received a phone call from Bowman on Wednesday about the trade.

“[Bowman said] just thanks for everything, not much,” Teravainen said by phone from Finland. “It was a little shock for me, maybe I didn’t understand anything so. I never knew if it was a possibility, but you can’t know. I was not thinking anything else. I was just practicing here and working out here. Just things happen quickly sometimes. They have some problems with the cap. Something had to happen. It’s a lot of business.”

“Of course, it’s a little shock. You never know what’s going to happen. I’m excited. I try to take all the positives and go to the new team. I don’t know any of the players yet, but I think there’s a lot of good young players. Hopefully, I can fit in good there and get some good minutes.”

Teravianen was grateful for his time with the Blackhawks.

“Probably the best time of my life,” Teravainen said. “I won the Stanley Cup there. All the organization, all the players were so great to me. It was unbelievable to be a part of something like this. The fans and everything, unbelievable, especially winning the Stanley Cup, it’s something you dream about.”
