I-loved-you

1. Don’t throw everything away. Just keep that one single picture you love. Some day you will be able to look back at that picture and you will smile I promise.

2. Don’t drink or do drugs. I know you’re in pain but this isn’t the right way baby.

3. Don’t you dare to go back asking for an other chance. It’s his loss not yours.

4. Don’t hurt yourself. Please don’t cut yourself or something else. Your heart is already broken hurting your body would make it worse.

5. Don’t think about dying I beg you. I love you okay and believe me I am not the only one. Keep your head up beautiful. We’ll get through this together okay.

—  5 things you shouldn’t do when you are heart broken.

You claimed to love me, & that you would never leave.

But here I am, alone once again.

Something you promised I would never be.

With nothing but a broken heart, & tears streaming down my cheeks.

I loved you; even now I must confess,
Some embers of my love their fire retain;
But do not let it cause you more distress,
I do not want to sadden you again.

Hopeless and tongue-tied, yet I loved you dearly
With pangs the jealous and the timid know;
So tenderly I love you, so sincerely,
I pray God grant another love you so.

—  Alexander Pushkin, “I Loved You”

I met you on a Tuesday in late January.
You were standing across the room talking to some people when I first laid eyes on you.

I couldn’t help it, I stared for a while.

Then, it happened.
Someone said something that made you laugh.
And a smile lingered on for a few moments after.

It was then that I knew,
You’d be the one to take my heart and break my soul.
You’d be the one to destroy my emotions in the most beautiful way anyone could.

So, I said “Goodbye” to reason,
“Farewell” to logic;
And “Hello” to You.

I’ll never forget you. Not because of the memories we shared or the hours we spent talking about nothing. Not because you caused me pain and tears and showed me the hard parts of life. But simply because I’m a writer, and a writer never forgets what has inspired them to write.
I mistook our silence for comfort, when in reality, we were at the end of the road. Words alone couldn’t save us anymore.
—  The silence wasn’t awkward, it was just painful.
