scenario where they land on a beach planet and lance tries to bring his s/o swimming but he gets them like waist-deep and they mcfreakin lose it cause they've had a lot of near-death experiences in the ocean back on earth

Mcfreakin lose it made me laugh more than it should. lol Anyways, here you go!

“Come on, (Y/n), it’ll be fun!” Lance encouraged you. He was already knee deep in the waves and he held his hand out for you.

You crossed your arms and pouted. “You know why I don’t want to, Lance, I already told you I wasn’t going to swim.”

He let his arm fall and started walking towards you. “Please, I won’t let anything happen to you, I promise. You don’t even have to go that far in.”

He wasn’t going to give up any time soon so you sighed in defeat and accepted your fate. “Fine, but don’t you dare let go of me.”

“I promise!” He smiled and took your hand. He was true to his word and kept you close as you waded out into the water. You were both waist deep and Lance had wanted to go out a bit farther but he felt a tug on his hand. He turned around to find you frozen in you place. “(Y/n)?”

You started shaking but you couldn’t move. Fear clouded your mind and the only thing you could think of was going under. Too many times had you almost died in the ocean and every time you thought that you’d never go back. But there you were, waist deep in the waves and scared for your life.

“(Y/n), hey, can you hear me?” Lance stepped towards you and waved his hand in front of your face. “(Y/n), I’ve got you, you’re okay.”

“I-I can’t do this.” You muttered. “I c-can’t. I can’t… help.”

Lance immediately scooped you up out of the water and took you towards the shore. “Just hold on.”

“L-Lance.” Everything seemed so distant to you and you could barely focus on his voice. Your breaths were shallow and you felt yourself become dizzy.

“I’m right here.” He said. “Just stay with me.”

He sat you down in the shade and kept an arm around you in case you passed out. “I-I’m scared.”

“There’s no need to be scared, you’re out of the water now.” He noticed how pale you were getting and began to panic on the inside. “Just breathe okay? Breathe with me.”

He exaggerated his breathing enough for you to copy it. You were a bit shaky at first but you soon got the hang of it. You mind cleared up more and more with each passing minute and you finally realized you were on dry land.

“Hey, you okay?” Lance asked. You looked up at his face for the first time since the whole ordeal and you finally realized how concerned he was.

“I’m fine, I think.” You answered. “Though, I don’t think I should be going back in the water anytime soon.”

He breathed out a laugh. “Yeah, that’s probably not a good idea. How about we just sit here for a while so you can catch your breath?”

“I’d like that.” You smiled at him. “Hey Lance?”

“Yeah?” He loosened his grip on you and situated you into a more comfortable position.

“Thank you, for getting me out of there.” You said. “I don’t think I would have been able to do it myself.”

He frowned. “Don’t thank me, I was the reason it happened in the first place. You would be just fine if I hadn’t of dragged you out there.”

“Yeah, but you’re here with me know, that’s all that matters.” You admitted. “So thank you.”

He sighed but smiled at you. “You’re welcome. Now get some rest, you still seem pretty out of it.”

“Yes, mom.” You teased, but laid your head against his chest anyways. The exhaustion from recent events flooded over you and it didn’t take long for you to fall asleep. Lance held you until you woke up again, he never let go of you, just like he promised.
