after you’ve been in abusive situation long term you have no idea how much stress and burden it’s inflicting into your life, it becomes normal that your biggest worry is anticipating your abuser’s mood and actions, and not your own life and your own achievements. It becomes normal to dread what they’re going to think or say about you, what they’re going to do if you take a step outside of what they allow you to do. Always feeling trapped and suffocating becomes the new normal, wanting to get away and not knowing from what becomes just “life” and it’s impossible to even imagine how your life would look like if you were free. Abusers can make freedom seem scary, wrong, even stupid, as if you don’t deserve it, as if everything you would do on your own, from your own will, is silly, dumb and wrong, like a free will of your own is a ridiculous thing for you to have. Like you don’t deserve it. Even when it’s your first human right.

President Obama blasts the Senate healthcare bill. We should remember that when ACA was being worked on, PBO took a stand that jeopardized his popularity and his political goodwill. He did this because he understood that healthcare is a human right and from first hand experience (his mother had cancer) he knew we do not take care of our sick, elderly, kids and the poor - the most vulnerable amongst us. That was the whole point of ACA, provide more coverage to people. All that will be destroyed if the Senate bill passes. We must speak up. Call 202-224-3121

IRAQ. Al Anbar governorate. Fallujah. April 30, 2003. Iraqi mourners at a funeral for a man who was killed by American troops after they fired on a crowd of anti-American protesters.

The Fallujah killings of April 2003 began when United States Army soldiers from the American 1st Battalion, 325th Infantry Regiment of the 82nd Airborne Division fired into a crowd of Iraqi civilians who were protesting their presence at a school within the city of Fallujah. The soldiers claimed they were receiving fire from the crowd, whereas the civilians said they were shot at first. Human Rights Watch, which inspected the area after the incident, found no physical evidence of shots fired at the building where U.S. forces were hiding.

This incident, among others, led to the First Battle of Fallujah (2004).

dear boys pt. 2

dont let feminists make you think that being a boy makes you:

  • a slob by default
  • a rapist/pervert by default
  • misogynistic by default
  • violent by default

it seems like a popular trend in modern feminism is to put men down in order to bring girls up. this is not necessary, and is the reason i identify as egalitarian. modern day feminism had devolved from women fighting for their basic human rights, to privileged, first world bitches complaining about anything and everything.

you are capable of being whoever you want to be

you are capable of being whoever you want to be

you are capable of being whoever you want to be

  • you are capable of being whoever you want to be
  1. you are capable of being whoever you want to be

you are capable of being whoever you want to be

no matter what these pissy sjw’s tell you, you are human, in control of your thoughts, actions, and the route you choose to take. I believe in you.

Project Elysians

Elysia ( population: 17 ) is Sorey’s home, and the Elysians his family. Below, I’ve collected all the NPC dialogue that I found during the course of the game to give us a better understanding of the individuals who are so important to our main characters.

Do note that what appears as purple on my screen can also appear as just dark blue on others’.

As far as I know, this is a complete catalog of non-cutscene dialogue. If I have missed anything, please tell me! And please do excuse any typos that may be present, I typed all of this up as I was playing and usually with a controller in hand

The (really good) hip hop trio A Tribe Called Red announced Friday that it won’t play a free concert to celebrate the opening of the Canadian Museum for Human Rights in Winnipeg on Saturday night because the museum won’t acknowledge that aboriginals were the victims of genocide.“Until this is rectified, we’ll support the museum from a distance,” said the band.Aboriginal spiritual leaders blessed the opening of the beautiful new museum, but other aboriginals were outside, protesting, as politicians gave speeches taking credit for the $351 million project. “We are successful if the museum can spark meaningful debate,” said museum CEO Stuart Murray.

  • It would be good if we could debate the specific question of whether aboriginals were the victims of genocide, but I wouldn’t expect Murray to say much.
  • The federal government, which appointed Murray, and which is footing most of the bill, recognizes five historical genocides — the Holocaust, the Armenian genocide in Turkey, the Holodomor in Ukraine, the Rwandan genocide and Srebrenica.
  • Likely because of concerns about legal liability, Ottawa does not want the human rights museum to acknowledge that what happened to aboriginals in this country was a genocide. It seems clear that it was, but so far the debate has consisted of aboriginals, historians and human rights activists making the case for genocide while Ottawa says nothing.
  • There likely exists some secret lawyerly counterargument turning on the United Nations definition of genocide, which is an act “committed with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group.”
  • In Canada, our ancestors definitely committed acts that destroyed native peoples. Nobody can argue that. Consider the Beothuk of Newfoundland who were exterminated. Federal lawyers likely secretly argue that it was not the intent of the Crown to destroy the Beothuk, much as Turks argue that the murder of thousands of Armenians was an incidental and unfortunate result of a civil war.
  • Mostly, though, we don’t argue with aboriginals about genocide. We ignore them.

Before pursuing stand-up comedy full-time, Hari Kondabolu was a human rights activist. At first telling jokes was a cathartic release from the intense work he did with victims of hate crimes and workplace discrimination. In today’s interview he recounts how he began to incorporate aspects of his work into his comedy:

“I used to do a bit where I used to read the U.S. citizenship application onstage. I think that’s part of just being overeducated and wanting to do document analysis, but I’d actually bring it on stage and read questions. Because for people who don’t know, this is what immigrants have to go through to gain status in this country and it’s absurd and it’s something we take for granted as American citizens.

Sometimes that was hard in a club on a Friday night and it’s 10 o-clock and everyone’s drunk and there’s a dude on stage reading a form, it’s a strange thing to read a government form in front of a bunch of drunk people.”

Hari’s new comedy album is called Waiting for 2042

Hi! i hope i'm doing this correctly. Could you possibly do a build a boyfriend jungkook oneshot? Like instead of build a bear you build a boyfriend?

Build A Boyfriend - Jungkook

Characters: Jungkook x Twelve (the reader)
Rated: Y for You really inspired me for this one!!

In 2126, a mysterious genetical mutation hit the Earth, making the Y gene inefficient during the conception. Every new born entered life as a girl during 30years. As male human being got older and older and the human race became close to extinction, a Euro-korean scientist named Park Junyeol found a way to recreate an artificial male DNA and clone it to the extend of a complete rebirth of the male kind. With the help of a laboratory specialized in genes he managed to diversify the DNA code to create different types of males to ensure the longevity and richness of the human race. This discovery started a great War called the Survival War in which every nations of the world fought each others to be in possession of the precious male DNA the Sub-Asian State was selfishly keeping for itself.

When Park died with no heir, a merchant company named Big Hit took advantage from the war to buy the rights of the DNA formula to the State in debt. It only took two years for the company to create Build A Man. An entirely new concept of stores where women would be able to create the man of their dreams by ordering it, as some random product. If it provoked a huge controversy on human rights at first, the amount of men dying in the fights of the raging war stifled it really soon. Women needed more men to keep on fighting and keep on procreating. The need to buy men from Big Hit took over any reasoning.

The procedure became so common that, after the end of the war, it became a social rite of passage to the adult life for young girls turning 16 to build their own man that would share their entire life. As a marketing hype, Big Hit changed the name of his shops from Build A Man to Build A Boyfriend and started a whole new era for the human kind. The gene manipulation had made the man kind submitted, obedient and artificially crazy in love with its owner and creator. The objectification of men had reach the ultimate limit when it became possible to “fix“ the boyfriend when it was no longer fulfilling the expectations of the owner when she grew. Love had became a subjective extension of the notion of possession.

United Nations To Consider Creating An LGBT Rights Officer
Five South American countries are expected to propose creating a new office concerned with LGBTI people's rights during next week's meeting of the Human Rights Council.
By J. Lester Feder

A group of five South American countries is expected to propose creating a new position at the United Nations devoted to investigating human rights violations against LGBTI people.

The position — a special rapporteur, or investigator — would answer to the United Nations Human Rights Council, which is beginning its next session of work in Geneva next week.

“We are going to be presenting a resolution, but it’s a work in progress,” said a diplomat with one of the countries sponsoring the initiative, who asked not to be named because the proposal had not been made public.

If such a resolution were adopted, it would be a significant step towards ensuring LGBTI rights are an ongoing matter of concern to international human rights bodies. The Human Rights Council adopted its first ever resolution on “human rights, sexual orientation and gender identity” in 2011 led by South Africa, but it took LGBTI rights supporters several years to figure out how to continue to press the issue further.

This is great news! LGBTQ+ rights should always be treated with the same concern as other human rights.

Top 10 LEAST well-dressed Bleach characters

As requested by anon. :)

This is a sequel to the list I did about the best-dressed Bleach characters. Now, once again using my complete lack of fashion sense, I will talk about the characters I find to be the WORST at clothes!

#10: Giriko

I realize that Giriko mostly wears a tuxedo. That’s like the definition of nice dressing. But, you see, he also wears an eyepatch that seems like it’s made out of his hair. And that’s the sort of thing that destroys any look.

Giriko: The sales lady said that people would love my fuzzy eyepatch.

#9: Ikkaku

If left to his own devices, Ikkaku actually isn’t a *bad* dresser. But he is really willing to let other people put terrible clothes on him. From a series of ridiculous wigs to a tight shirt that Mizuho gave him. Plus, his idea of a fashion accessory for school is a wooden sword stuck through his belt loops. Am I punishing him for things he wore in filler? Yes. That will be a theme in this list.

Ikkaku: I’m just a polite house guest!!

Ikkaku: Who loves swords.

#8: Yumichika

*hides from inevitable outrage* I"m sorry! I just find Yumichika’s look to be very….silly! I mean, back in the old day he wore like an orange turtleneck on the outside of his uniform. An orange turtle neck tied with a strip to his wrist warmer (???). And now, he really just looks like he has tufts of hair coming out of his ears. I assume I’m just not fashionable enough to understand.

#7: Ichigo

Ichigo makes this list because although he never looks bad, he doesn’t seem to have any real fashion sense. His aesthetic is “cool T-shirts” (which in Ichigo’s case, means “T-shirts with random English words on them because random English words are cool”). It’s like he aims for cool and accidentally hits dorky. But most of all, he’s here because of that one outfit. You know, the one that’s clearly him wearing a shirt from his childhood that’s now much too small for him but he can’t stop wearing it because he loves it so much. So he wears another, long-sleeved shirt underneath, but that just makes the original shirt tighter and does nothing to stop his belly from peeking out to say hi to the world.

Ichigo: Um, *Keigo* said that outfit is cool!!!

Ichigo: Oh no.

#6: Aaroniero

He wears a giant ruffled collar. A giant collar, that is also ruffled. Just a lot of ruffles accenting his collar. I guess I just don’t like his giant ruffled collar.

#5: Kenpachi

Kenpachi just doesn’t give a fuck about his clothes. He lets them get very ragged. Torn up, really. Which I guess could count as a style, except that in Kenpachi’s case I think it’s more that he couldn’t care less.

Kenpachi: Yeah. I put all of my energy into my hair.

#4: Renji

Do you remember what Renji wore in the human world during the Bount arc? Do you? I know it’s filler, but it was just so bad that it’s launching Renji onto this list. I’m sorry. In canon, he mostly just loves over-the-top dorky sunglasses that he then breaks. I really can’t fault him for that.

Renji: Like it’s easy for a shinigami to get human fashion sense right the first time!

Matsumoto: [waves]

#3: Nnoitra

I make fun of Nnoitra’s outfit a lot. Maybe I should stop, but I don’t know how. I mean, he has a giant spoon hood. And huge puffy pants that only accent how skinny his legs are. And that chest window to show off his skinny, skinny pecs. In my heart, I believe that Nnoitra believes that his spoon hood and poofy pants will make him look like he has more girth, but he just couldn’t be more wrong.

#2: Urahara

To his credit, Urahara chose a theme and went all out. And the theme he chose is “pea-green stuff.” And sure his pants may be a little short, but they are pea-green, so he wears them. And sure his shirt tends to fall open, but it’s pea-green, so he wears it. And sure his hat gives him the worst hat hair ever, but it’s striped in pea-green, so he wears it. It’s all coordinated and clearly planned, but it just looks so silly!

Urahara: But you love my hat!

#1: Kurotsuchi

I just don’t know why he looks like a dandelion now.

Kurotsuchi: My fashion sense is beyond your understanding.

“The common goal of 22 million Afro-Americans is respect as human beings, the God-given right to be a human being. Our common goal is to obtain the human rights that America has been denying us. We can never get civil rights in America until our human rights are first restored. We will never be recognized as citizens there until we are first recognized as humans.”  Malcolm X
