Best announcement of E3 so far, and definitely the most Serious Fun ever attempted by Natsume! Yesterday, in the publisher’s booth, Natsume superfans Logan Talbert and Caitlin Wheeland got engaged.
I asked Natsume community manager CeeCee about this heartwarming moment. She told me that Logan and Caitlin are longtime Natsume fans, having been invited to E3 as part of a special fan initiative in 2014, then again in the following two years.
With this year’s invitation, Logan contacted the company to help plan out a surprise proposal. “Of course, no proposal would do without a blue feather, but getting one to Logan without Caitlin noticing turned out to be QUITE the challenge,” she said. “We had them hidden all over in case one of us saw and opportunity to slip it to him - even Taka (Producer of the Harvest Moon series) had one hiding in his jacket pocket. Finally, we hit upon the perfect idea: hide one in the Show Daily magazine and hand that to him - mission accomplished.”
At the right moment, Logan surprised Caitlin with the blue feather (the Harvest Moon equivalent of an engagement ring), then got down on one knee and offered the Earth equivalent of an engagement ring. “Unbeknownst to her,” CeeCee said, “the rest of the Natsume staff and the other E3 VIPs were hiding around the corner and as soon as they heard her say yes they all ran up and cheered. So many huge smiles. It was amazing.”
Has taken about 4-5 months and has been so fun to make and see the picture building with each line. I love it!
I made the picture and turned it into the pattern myself.
It is done using a uk 4.5mm hook, dc stitch.
All the yarn I used was from Hobbycraft, the wi yarn and hayfield bonus dk.
There are 51,060 stitches in total!
Harvest moon on the snes was one of the first games I remember playing, I used to play it for hours, and is still one of my favourite games today :)
I will post a video on YouTube of this from start to finish. If anyone want to get in contact with me please email email@example.com
The Full Moon this month is on Wednesday, the 17th!
August’s full moon is traditionally known as the Corn Moon, another moon that
is a powerful harvest moon.
The full moon in August closely resembles the meaning of
Lughnasad, or August Eve. Grains, fire, harvest, and preservation are associated
with both of these evenings. This moon is a time for showing gratitude, in
regards for both the harvest and more spiritual happenings.
Here are a few things to do this full moon:
Gather more herbs and hang them to dry to stock up for winter.
Tis the season for wild flowers. Take a walk and harvest
some mugwort or yarrow, or other flowers or herbs in your area.
Try making your own pickles or jams from your own harvest,
or hit the farmers market!
Spend the day outside, enjoying the tail end of the suns
Decorate your altar with red, gold, yellow, and orange.
Fresh herbs and summer flowers. Grains. Stones associated with the fire
element, such as carnelian and fire agate.
Create, recharge, or add to your Gratitude Jar (readthis

Something that fascinates me about games like Harvest Moon and Stardew Valley, or really any sim games with no real ending, is something I like to call “The Existential Crisis Threshold.”
Like the point in the game where you’ve done it all, collected everything, and the game loses it’s luster, and you just sort of… give up. You stare at your little avatar, and he stares back at you, and you can almost hear the thoughts swirling in his fevered brain, all like…
“I’ve done it all Takakura. I’ve rebuilt my father’s farm with these two hands, married the love of my life, raised a family. I’m a pillar of the community, beloved by all…
AND WHAT DOES IT MATTER TAKAKURA? WHAT WAS IT ALL FOR? EVERY DAY IS AN UNENDING CYCLE OF MONOTONY. MY WIFE HAS SPOKEN THE SAME WORDS TO ME EVERY DAY FOR FIVE YEARS. THERE ARE NO CHALLENGES LEFT TAKAKURA! NO FISH I CANNOT CATCH, NO HOE I CANNOT CRAFT, NO COW I CANNOT MILK! I HAVE MORE MONEY THAN A MAN CAN SPEND. MORE TURNIPS THAN A MAN CAN EAT. AND NONE OF IT BRINGS ME HAPPINESS.
Sometimes I wish I could tear it all apart. Go back to the ignorance of my youth”
“You don’t mean that kid…”
Of course Harvest Moon a Wonderful Life isn’t exactly the best example. After many long, dreary years of toil, the game does end.
“It’s not like we’re not thinking about [same-sex relationships],”
Hashimoto said. “We know that it has to be there sometime in the
But, according to him, it will take more work than just allowing
players to date any eligible bachelor they want, regardless of gender.
In order to make same-sex marriage possible, he told us, the game will
have to include separate, specifically gay characters to date.
“It’s going to be a little difficult”
and it seems our prayers have finally been answered
I’ve been sick all week so instead of resting I fulfilled a childhood dream and put together a patch that allows players to choose to marry the same gender in the gamecube game Harvest Moon: Magical Melody !! There’s a few other games with hacks like this, but Magical Melody was a big part of my childhood, so I really hoped I could make this someday. and, today is that someday?? thanks
