At 124 feet tall, Falcon Nest is the world’s tallest single-family house, designed by Phoenix architect Sukumar Pal, AIA, and built beside 6,514-foot Thumb Butte in Prescott, just 1.5 hour drive north of the Valley. This amazing property can be repurposed as: HAM Radio Tower Living, an Observatory, and accommodates Holistic and Green Living mindfulness. The “Palsolaral House” exemplifies passive solar technologies as well as other unique alternative power, heating cooling sources and sits on 1.08 undulating acres just minutes from downtown’s famous Whiskey Row.
Morse code is one of the first forms of electronic communication but is still used and taught today for its ability to work over weak radio signals. Up untill 2003 morse code was required knowledge to become a HAM radio operator.
Morse code goes beyond radio communications though as it can be easily used in other ways such as tapping walls or pipes, or flashed out using a flashlight or signal mirror.
Even if you have no desire to learn morse code, one line that everyone should know is “SOS” wich is a universal distress call that is represented as “ · · · – – – · · ·” Many better made LED flashlights made by Mag Light, Stream Light, etc have a mode that will flash the SOS signal repeatedly. Aplications for smartphones are also available that turn the screen white and flash the screens backlight in the SOS or other morse “phrases”.
