Clinton aims to run up the score
The Democrat wants to squash "rigged" election talk with a huge win, dragging congressional Dems along for the ride.

NEW YORK — Hillary Clinton and her allies have an animating aim in the final 14 days of the 2016 contest – drive up the score so dramatically that claims by Donald Trump of Democratic vote-rigging will be rendered inconsequential thanks to the margin of victory.
And if their final bombardment of campaign activity drags down-ballot Democrats across the finish line and sweeps proponents of Trump’s alt-right ideology off the political table, all the better.

Already having banked millions of early votes as Trump’s campaign spiraled over the last three weeks, Clinton’s headquarters and battleground states teams now see a high-single-digit margin of victory as realistic – something that looks as decisive as Barack Obama’s 2008 win over John McCain… READ MORE

They can’t even control their glee long enough to fearmonger any longer.

Even the Clinton camp is planning for a blowout, yet we’ve got all these people on Tumblr trying to make it seem like a vote for Jill Stein will usher in the Trumpocalypse.

You thought about voting Green but you were afraid of Donald Trump? Well, that’s over. Clinton is our next president – no matter how you vote.

The goal at this point for all progressives should be to make sure that third parties reach 5% nationally and get FEC funding so that we don’t ever get stuck in this bullshit lesser of two evils system again.

We need to build a progressive infrastructure in this country to oppose the extreme-right and center-right parties that monopolize the levers of power.

Vote however you please. The gun they held to your head turned out to be a water pistol.

Power to the People Plan
Jill's Power to the People Plan

Power to the People Plan

Key points of the Power to the People Plan:

A Green New Deal:

Create millions of jobs by transitioning to 100% clean renewable energy by 2030, and investing in public transit, sustainable agriculture, and conservation.

Jobs as a Right:

Create living-wage jobs for every American who needs work, replacing unemployment offices with employment offices. Advance workers rights to form unions, achieve workplace democracy, and keep a fair share of the wealth they create.

End Poverty:

Guarantee economic human rights, including access to food, water, housing, and utilities, with effective anti-poverty programs to ensure every American a life of dignity.

Health Care as a Right:

Establish an improved “Medicare For All” single-payer public health insurance program to provide everyone with quality health care, at huge savings.

Education as a Right:

Abolish student debt to free a generation of Americans from debt servitude. Guarantee tuition-free, world-class public education from pre-school through university. End high stakes testing and public school privatization.

A Just Economy:

Set a $15/hour federal minimum wage. Break up “too-big-to-fail” banks and democratize the Federal Reserve. Reject gentrification as a model of economic development. Support development of worker and community cooperatives and small businesses. Make Wall Street, big corporations, and the rich pay their fair share of taxes. Create democratically run public banks and utilities. Replace corporate trade agreements with fair trade agreements.

Protect Mother Earth:

Lead on a global treaty to halt climate change. End destructive energy extraction: fracking, tar sands, offshore drilling, oil trains, mountaintop removal, and uranium mines. Protect our public lands, water supplies, biological diversity, parks, and pollinators. Label GMOs, and put a moratorium on GMOs and pesticides until they are proven safe. Protect the rights of future generations.

Racial Justice Now:

End police brutality and mass incarceration. Create a Truth and Reconciliation Commission to understand and eliminate the legacy of slavery that lives on as pervasive racism in the economy, education, housing and health. Ensure that communities control their police rather than police controlling our communities, by establishing police review boards and full time investigators to look in to all cases of death in police custody. Demilitarize the police.

Freedom and Equality:

Expand women’s rights, protect LGBTQIA+ people from discrimination, defend indigenous rights and lands, and create a welcoming path to citizenship for immigrants. Protect the free Internet, legalize marijuana/hemp, and treat substance abuse as a public health problem, not a criminal problem.

Justice for All:

Restore our Constitutional rights, terminate unconstitutional surveillance and unwarranted spying, end persecution of government and media whistleblowers, close Guantanamo, abolish secret kill lists, and repeal indefinite detention without charge or trial.

Peace and Human Rights:

Establish a foreign policy based on diplomacy, international law, and human rights. End the wars and drone attacks, cut military spending by at least 50% and close the 700+ foreign military bases that are turning our republic into a bankrupt empire. Stop U.S. support and arms sales to human rights abusers, and lead on global nuclear disarmament.

Empower the People:

Abolish corporate personhood. Protect voters’ rights by establishing a constitutional right to vote.  Enact electoral reforms that break the big money stranglehold and create truly representative democracy: public campaign financing, ranked-choice voting, proportional representation, and open debates.

All that shit going around scaring people into not voting third parties are lies. Invest your vote for a better future. Get the Green Party 5% of the vote and they will get over $10 million in federal funding, ballot access for the next presidential elections so they don’t have to spend time/resources petitioning to get their name on the ballot AND will give the Green Party many state ballot access for state legislation and governor spots. Don’t vote for the lesser evil invest in your future!

Fun reminder to my UK followers about why they should vote Green.
  • They want to make university free for all UK citizens.
  • They want to give a £70 universal income for all members of society.
  • They want to make the UK run completely on renewable energy.
  • They want to ban harmful animal testing and battery farming.
  • They want to double the amount spent on scientific research.
  • They want to keep the NHS public.
  • They want to make the work week 35 hours as standard. That’s a 4 day work week, not 5.

You should vote Green. I don’t know what more to say.

Okay so I’m trying to think objectively about the upcoming UK election. Where I don’t go about it thinking the tories are pricks, and I try to move away from not liking Labour based on What Blair Did, I try to believe things Nick says (but don’t forget 2010), give UKIP a chance that maybe it’s just the media telling me they’re a bunch of racists (but they probably are…) and giving the greens more of a chance than just the ‘hopeful dream that won’t actually ever work’.

Basically, I’m trying to  be unbiased.

Just some info I strung together from a couple of independent sites. It’s not exhaustive but I’ve tried to include bits of everything from these five parties…

(Well, the truth behind this is actually my parents are threatening to vote UKIP and I’m terrified but I thought this would be a better way to talk them out of it, and that maybe some of UK tumblr might find it useful too.)

If anyone’s got any questions about the points or the sources, or even my own views, drop me an ask. and IF ANYTHING IS INCORRECT THEN PLEASE LET ME KNOW  BY COMMENTS OR ASKS OR BY PIGEON POST!

Happy voting everyone, let’s try and not ruin the UK…

Corporate Media Has Complete Collapse Over Hillary [x]

[Redacted Tonight with Lee Camp]

June 10, 2016:

“The corporate media keeps telling us to now celebrate this grand moment in history. Okay. First, I only need to celebrate if the candidate is a good person, who stands for… Oh. I don’t know… anything! Hey! Here’s the first female corporate election fraud Presidential nominee! Brought to you by the good people of Goldman Sachs and Monsanto! Ah, well. Break out the champagne!

Secondly, she’s not the first woman to be a Presidential nominee. Jill Stein was the nominee, for the Green Party, just last election cycle and there are many others! So yeah, “Anybody who isn’t celebrating Hillary is a misogynist.” Meanwhile, you’re bulldozing over history, to knock other women out of the way.

Sorry ladies, you weren’t on a corporatist party platform, so you don’t count! Out of the way, Victoria Woodhull, who was a presidential nominee in 1872. You mean nothing, in your sepia photos. You’re no Hillary!” - Lee Camp @redactedtonight

In the November election in the USA, vote for your Senator & Congressperson. It’s more important than who is President.

Hey, so, more important than who you’re voting for as President of the United States in the general election: vote down your ticket. Meaning, vote for your Senator, your Congressperson, and your local state & county representatives. This is actually FAR MORE IMPORTANT than the President. While most of us are gerrymandered to all hell (maryland absolutely is x_X) we still need to try.

Here’s the deal: the reason Obama hasn’t gotten much done in the past 8 years is because we’ve had a Republican majority in the House & Senate, & they’re a bunch of whiny babies who block every SINGLE piece of legislation Obama proposes, regardless of how beneficial it is for everyone. So, let me break it down for you:

1. Regardless of if Hilary or Bernie is the democratic nominee, if there’s a Republican majority in Congress, *it won’t matter*. No legislation will get passed, we’ll still be stuck with them refusing to nominate a new Supreme Court Justice, we’ll be stuck with a bunch of bureaucratic nonsense. We NEED a Democratic majority, even a tiny majority, to get anything done.

2. If, gods forbid, Trump is elected, a Democratic congress will be able to mitigate a large amount of the damage he will inevitably try to do. He wants to build a wall around Mexico? Well, he won’t get to do that if Congress tells him to fuck off and they won’t give him the funding. He wants to deport all Muslims? Congress says no, fuck you Trump. We inevitably find that he’s a tax-dodging cheating bastard? Congress goes “lol hey time for impeachment proceedings!” If we have a Republican congress, enough Republican reps are actually on Trump’s side that he WILL get his stupid way.

3. If you’re a socialist / communist and you hate Hilary Clinton a lot, and the REASON you hate her is because you feel that honestly she’s more of a Centrist / 80’s era Republican than she is any sort of leftist or democrat, again, remember that a Democratic Congress will be able to shut down any of her more idiotic Republican-esque legislation. Worried about her entangling us in more goddamn wars? Elect Congressional representatives who will vote against that, and they will keep her on a leash. THAT IS WHAT CONGRESS IS FOR. With a Republican congress, however, you’ll see all the things you hate about Clinton getting through as she ~compromises and negotiates~ with them. With a Democratic Congress, she’ll ~compromise and negotiate~ with THOSE people instead, and thus her legislation will HAVE to become more left-leaning.

So, EVEN IF YOU ARE A REPUBLICAN… if you are a Republican who (rightly!) is terrified of a Trump presidency, PLEASE bite the bullet vote for Democratic delegates in the House and Senate. You know as well as we do (perhaps better, even) that a Trump presidency with a Republican majority will be far, far, far more disastrous than a Clinton presidency with a Democratic majority. If you’re that concerned about it, then get your act together as a party and in 4 years field someone who isn’t a raging lunatic.

If you are a socialist who balks at voting for Clinton, AT LEAST vote in democratic (or hell, socialist! green party! COMMUNIST) representatives for Congress.

Tom Mulcair is the nice grandfather, Steven Harper is the racist grandfather, Elizabeth May is my aunt that always give you a lot of money for your birthday and Justin Trudeau is that chill older cousin who wants to see you drunk and tells you “if you do drugs at least do them with me so I can supervise”
