I’ve said this elsewhere but since everyone is now drooling over Rosario Dawson (and I don’t blame you, she’s a fucking babe), let’s also remember her work for the Latinx people, countless environmental causes, her efforts to support womens anti-violence charities, LGBT and womens/girls support organizations, as well as pushing WOC and POC involvement in comics. She’s legit good and awesome people.
There are good people in your life; they’re just dressed in casual lives you’ve never thought to question. They’re hidden in between things you’ve taken for granted, in people you met but never took the time to know, in short answers you never looked into, in classmates and mentors. There are good people, once you’re ready to look beyond. Open up your eyes.
Only hang around people that are positive and make you feel good. Anybody who doesn’t make you feel good, kick them to the curb. And the earlier you start in your life the better. The minute anybody makes you feel weird and non-included or not supported, you know, either beat it or tell them to beat it.
Life isn’t always about the big things; the weddings, funerals, babies, careers, homes, pets or new outlooks. Life can be about the small things. The aimless walks, the mindless babble, the made up theories, the ‘do you believe in aliens?’ and the guessing games. Anything you do, no matter how big or small, can affect your life and your ambitions. Take time to appreciate every little thing.
