I can’t get my guitar wet! What should I do?

WINTER HAIR TIP #1

Beanies are great, but not if they’re completely cotton. Cotton will dry out your hair, making it very dry and brittle potentially causing breakage. To avoid this, sew a bit of satin on the inside of them so that you retain that well needed moisture!!!

Reasons for Going Natural

Women chemically alter their hair for a variety of reasons. Some do it for the look, some do it for social reasons, and others just don’t know how to handle their natural hair and chemically alter their tresses in hopes of an easier life.

On the flip side, more women are choosing to give up the chemicals and wear their natural hair, you may need a little encouragement before you make the big chop or start the transition.

Here are some reasons why people are choosing to wear their hair in its natural state…

  • Chemicals are damaging:  Many suffer from damage (thinning, breaking hair) caused by chemicals (perms, relaxers etc) and have to go natural to get their hair back healthy
  • Curiosity: Some people are curious about what their natural hair looks like.  Some only have baby pictures
  • Just want to wear the hair they were born with
  • Role modeling: For example, a mother trying to encourage her daughter to stay natural or show that natural hair is beautiful and there is nothing wrong with her hair. It is from a young age that kids learn that the hair they were born with is ugly and unacceptable. The media and community have not helped the situation. Teach your kids and those you come in contact with that their hair is beautiful and there is nothing wrong with it.
  • Just want a new look or because it’s “in” at the moment
  • Practicing an eco, green, natural lifestyle and are forgoing all chemicals and certain ingredients: Exposing your scalp to chemicals on a regular basis is not just harmful for your hair but your health. Check out those ingredients. Many of them are toxic, harsh and absorbed into our scalp (which is part of our skin).
