Godly Living

Salvation isnโ€™t entirely about us being saved. Too often we have a very self-centered view of salvationโ€ฆ we sit back and think that we are saved and that was the entire purpose of God. Salvation is not only about what we were saved from but what we were saved to. Thereโ€™s a purpose for our salvation. We were saved to be something. We were saved to do something. We are called to be servants of God.
—  2 Corinthians 6:3-10
God did not ask you to be like others; God asked you to be like Him. Donโ€™t compare yourself with those around you, they are not your role to follow. Jesus is.

“Do not love this world nor the things it offers you, for when you love the world, you do not have the love of the Father in you. For the world offers only a craving for physical pleasure, a craving for everything we see, and pride in our achievements and possessions. These are not from the Father, but are from this world.”

‭‭1 John‬ ‭2:15-16‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Even though God promises a life of victory, it doesnโ€™t mean it will be easy or uncomplicated. But we arenโ€™t relying on our own strength anyway, the battle is not ours, itโ€™s the Lordโ€™s. Trust Him all along the journey.
Even if people don’t have faith, the Lord is still faithful. This was the basis of Paul’s confidence in God’s ability to establish and guard us from the evil one. God’s promised to keep Satan on a leash. He won’t allow any temptation to become too great for us, and won’t allow Satan to do whatever he wants with us.
—  2 Thessalonians 3:3:ย But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil.

Dear sisters-in-Christ,

Stop asking how you will know if he likes you. Stop looking for the signs. Stop wondering if his ‘like’ on your new profile photo or his 'hello’ when you bump into each other means something. Stop making assumptions as to why he’s ignoring you or why he’s suddenly talking to you. Stop imagining things that aren’t true. Stop giving your heart away.

If he likes you, he will lay down his intentions to you. He will make himself clear. He will not leave you second-guessing. He will not leave you. He will respect you and your season. He will talk to God about you. He will pursue you.

And if he is really for you, God will make a way for the both of you. God will make things beautiful for you. God will allow it in His perfect timing. God will bring you together. God will keep you together.

So, trust. Trust in Him. Believe that He knows you and your needs and your wants better. Yield. Obey.

If you have or are suffering from any kind of addiction, depression, disorder, and you are reading this at this very moment, I want to tell you that I am so proud of you for being here, alive. You are so valued, so very much loved and appreciated. People like you are testimonies of the power and glory of God, and that it is possible to experience beauty out of ashes. Thank you for being strong, your life makes the difference.
