The Eureka Tower

Towering 297.3m above Melbourne is the Eureka Tower. Completed in 2006 by Grocon (Grollo Australia). It was the tallest residential building in the world for a brief period, but has since become the 12th tallest in the world, and the second tallest building in Australia. The building takes its name from the Eureka Stockade Rebellion, during the Victorian Gold Rush in 1854. The windows on the top 10 floors are covered in 24 carat gold.

Skydeck 88 features ‘The Edge’ a glass box which moves out over the street nearly 300m below. As the box moves out, the glass beneath your feet is opaque, and suddenly becomes clear once extended 3m out.
