Erika Lane

Erika Lane Enggren

Childhood in Durango, Colorado until age 12, after that Los Angeles, California.

Film student and casting assistant.  My occupation “when I grow up” is still being discovered.

What inspires you creatively?

Anything and everything artistic and beautiful.  Photography, art, film, writing, fashion, travel, dance, music, creative people, love.

What are some of your aspirations?

To live so happy that I am only in the here and now, the present moment at all times. To be in love with my own life, always.

How do you define success?

Doing something you love, something creative that makes you smile and pushes you to want more.

What’s your dream job?

I don’t have a specific dream job. I just know that if I am doing something that inspires me everyday, and expressing myself in some way, that is my dream job.

What was the last book you read?

Full book?  I can’t remember.  But the last thing I read was a short story called “Girl on the plane” by Mary Gaitskill.

Quote some lyrics from your favorite song and explain what they mean to you.

“I listen to the wind to the wind of my soul, where I end up well I think only god really knows, I’ve sat upon the setting sun, and never, never, never, I never wanted water once” –The Wind by Cat Stevens.

This question was hard for me because I have a lot of different favorite songs.  This one speaks to me because I go through life trying to follow where my heart takes me, where the wind takes me.  I am not religious but spiritual and the word “god” is interchangeable for me.  I am ever changing and growing always and am led down my path by my soul.  Also, being able to figuratively sit under the sun and never ask for water speaks a great deal to me because the greatest way to learn about yourself is to take on the heat of this world and remain strong and resilient.  Observing and enduring the world around me while sitting with my own mind is how I have learned about myself and about everyone and everything around me.

What’s the best way to approach you?

Just do it.  I am very approachable, sometimes a little too much so.  I will find myself in a conversation with almost anyone.

What’s the first thing you notice on a man?

Eyes, I try to read them. Then lips immediately after.

What’s your idea of a perfect date?

“Dates” have never really been my thing.  If I like you, I just like being in your presence, regardless of what we do.  Fancy restaurants can work at times although I find it kind of awkward.  I mean, I don’t wanna sit across from you and feel like I’m on an interview, I’d rather be sitting next to you, I love body contact.  A quiet night at home, movies, concerts, up all night partying, road trip, vacations, anything adventurous, those would all be perfect dates in my mind.

When do you most feel sexy?

Emotionally, when I am the most confident I feel the sexiest.  Physically, in lacey underwear and bras…and in black or red.

Can you cook?  If so, what dish do you make best?

Yes.  Didn’t used to cook at all but I’m starting to love it more and more.  Currently my favorite thing to make is chicken tacos, or any type of Mexican food.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

I see myself happy, doing something that makes me feel good. I find that living day by day with positive thoughts in mind is the best way to build my future, and in 5 years I will tell you where I’ll be in 5 years.

What’s one thing about you that is often time misunderstood?

That I hate being misunderstood, but often feel I can never say what I am thinking, or get it out in the right way.

Describe yourself in 3 words.

I hate this question but I guess if I had to choose I would say: Outgoing, Creative, Insightful.

Just by looking at you, what’s something we would never guess?

That I drive a 1977 Cutlass Supreme.

How do you want to be remembered?

I want people to remember me by my loving nature.  That if they hear my name, they’ll smile.
