Duct Tape Invitational

Duct Tape After Party

After Alex sprayed Pickle down with copious amounts of champagne for his Duct Tape win, it was time to get down to business. And by business, I mean the opposite of that which is party-ing. Please allow me to transport you back in time to a bus full of French surfers singing Frères Jacques on repeat, and about 25 American longboarders yelling at each other with bad Italian accents to set the stage. The Vans Europe crew took us to a traditional Astur restaurant. The key ingredients involved in an Astur meal, appears to be shooting cider out of a cask in the wall as a 4-foot stream straight to your mouth and bagpipes. The bagpipes never cease. There was also an incident with what looked like a cream tart, but was actually mayonnaise, but I won’t go into that.

Last night’s Duct Tape Tofino opening ceremony dinner took place at the Long Beach Lodge Resort in Tofino, BC.

All 16 invitees received a DTI Tofino skateboard with art by legendary skateboarder/artist Neil Blender.

Thanks to our sponsors: Independent Trucks, Spitfire Wheels, Bro Style, and Watson Laminates.

The Joel Tudor Duct Tape Invitational starts tomorrow, and to kick it off right we shut down the new Vans “Off The Wall” skatepark in Huntington Beach for the contestants of this year’s Duct Tape invitational.

Skaters: Joel Tudor, Troy Elmore, Alex Knost, Kelia Moniz, & Ryan Burch
