Dredd 3d

I want a comic book movie with a great female villain

I want a movie with a female hero who doesn’t need to be rescued by her male counterpart

I want a comic book movie where the female hero’s costume isn’t somehow made to be more feminine or sexual

I want a movie where-

Quick reminder that today is the first episode of movieverse Anderson’s debut series in the Judge Dredd Megazine, written by Alec Worley with art by Paul Davidson and colors by Len O’Grady. And’s a pretty damn strong opener! A bit marred here and there by references to the movie, but it’s just to be expected from her first outing. And the second half of the strip did an awesome job at making me want more. Good stuff, very much looking forward to where it goes.

This movie is massively underrated and it deserved a lot more. I predicted that it would be this way. It wouldn’t do well in theaters, people would then see how amazing it is on Netflix and would then demand a sequel which probably won’t happen. BUT…..I am hoping like many of you that we get a series that continues the story on Netflix at least.

There’s something so weird and mysterious about the way the film Dredd draws you in, though.

All you ever get is this one crazy, violent-filled night in the life of this one guy. And you never even see his face or know that much about him.

You don’t need a backstory or a sequel hook or an after credits scene or hundreds of millions of dollars in CGI. The glimpse you are given is more than enough.

And, yeah, Karl Urban should have been the new Batman just going on the astounding over-the-speaker speech scene alone.

IMO, only the hallway scene in Daredevil ever quite managed to tap into the frantic, nervous, scary energy of that film.
