Top Ten Favourite Movies:
(This was the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my life and I’m still not satisfied with the result)

•Saw [The Entire Franchise, yes all 7] - Absolute favourite movies in the entire world. I love everything about it and that doesn’t make me a sadist. I love the storylines, the plot twists, the relatable characters and even the not so relatable characters. Mark Hoffman is my everything. If you like Saw too check out my Saw/Horror blog: poison-in-your-blood
Also Leigh Whannell is all I want to be in life (the writer/creator)
/Horror-Mystery/ dir. James Wan

•Donnie Darko - Hauntingly beautiful. A depressed and schizophrenic teenager hallucinates about the end of the world and a giant talking rabbit and time travel. It might take one or two watches before understanding it but it’s so artistic and wonderfully done.
/Thriller-Drama-SciFi/ Dir. Richard Kelly

• Prestige - Another film that might take a couple of rewatches.. An all star cast (including fkn David Bowie as Tesla), the best plot twist of all time and magic. Magic that will mess you up. Probably my favourite movie of all time besides Saw. Christian Bale smashes it. I wish I was a magician.
/Thriller-Drama/Dir. Christopher Nolan

•Reservoir Dogs - Homoerotic subtext fo'shizzle. Whoever doesn’t ship Orange and White are weird. This movie is complete genius. It’s funny and it’s clever and I mean c'mon Steve Buscemi is a legend.
/Crime-Drama/ dir. Quentin Tarantino

•Before Sunrise [The Trilogy] - When I first watched this movie it was with my family and they all hated it but I fell in love with it. So much that I decided to watch the next two in the trilogy. The series is so thought provoking and delicate. It’s basically a dialogue movie but if you listen you might learn a lot of things, perhaps even how to love.
/Romance/ dir. Richard Linklater

•Juno - Witty, hilarious, adorable and emotional.
Ellen Page, Michael Sara and Patrick Bateman, teenage pregnancy, highschool sweethearts, plus a fantastic soundtrack… What’s not to love?!
/Dramatic RomCom/ dir. Jason Reitman

•Labyrinth - Mainly one of my favourite movies due to the childhood nostalgia. Even now I wish I had best friends like Hoggle and Ludo. Also I wish I had David Bowie frothing over me and fighting for my love. It could happen, I mean my brother is called Toby just like Sarah. ‘As The World Falls Down’ is going to be my wedding song.
/Drama-Family/ dir. Jim Henson.

•Lord Of The Rings [The Trilogy] - I’m a nerd, leave me alone. I grew up with this and I will die with this. It has best characters in anything ever and for god sakes let me give Samwise Gamgee a hug.
/Adventure-Fantasy/ dir. Peter Jackson

•V For Vendetta - Okay so I only watched this for the first time this year but it had me in the first twenty minutes. Even though V is an extremist his views and opinions are spot on. This has all my favourite themes; political rebellion, romance and love, rediscovering your identity, world-changing ideas and passion.
/Thriller-Drama-Action / dir. James McTeigue

•Pirates of The Caribbean [The Trilogy] - Captain Jack Sparrow is my spirit animal and I ship him so hard with Elisabeth. I don’t even care about her and William get me some Sparrowbeth please. It’s clever and comical and the second movie is my favourite out of all three. ALL THREE. BECAUSE THERE WAS ONLY THREE. NOT FOUR. WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?! THREE.
/Action-Fantasy-Drama/ dir. Gore Verbinski

Shoutouts to my fave movies that didn’t make the cut such as HSM, Scott Pilgrim, Lost In Translation, Fight Club, The Game, Rock of Ages, MP&Holy Grail, When Harry Met Sally, Romeo and Juliet, Heathers etc. (I was gonna add stage productions like Boosh, AVPM and Les Mis but I restrained)

“The Kubrick Stare, sometimes referred to as the Kubrick Glare, is a common camera shot of an actor in most of Stanley Kubrick’s films. The Kubrick Glare has been called the “heavy-browed look of insanity”. It symbolizes that the character in question is either really, really pissed or really becoming deranged, and the person they’re looking at is really, really screwed. Other times—usually when combined with a smile—it means they’re feeling really, really clever. Either way, it’s really creepy and ominous.”
