So this is the bike I’ve been working on for the past few months…full frame down rebuild. Still tuning it, but it was running well enough to take to the salt and try to destroy it. After selling my first XS650 to keep the bills paid I found a great deal on a ‘left on the side of my house for years’ 1978 XS650 Special. So a few months later I have another cool bike to annoy the neighbors with.
A huge thanks to my favorite Floridian, Jason Michaels of Dime City Cycles, for hanging out with us for the week while we camped in El Mirage and made the best of our time. Traded up the swamp for a dry lake.
My good buds over at Dime City Cycles are gearing up for a big party, and although I can’t get out there for it, it is pretty awesome that The Ace Cafe will be a part of it. Say what you will about cafe culture in the US, and its absurdities, but this is pretty cool.
“Bikes, beers and brisket, can’t really ask for anything else from last nights Iron and Air Issue No. 9 release party. On top of all that, it was all FREE! If you haven’t already, go subscribe to Iron and Air magazine. I guarantee you will not regret it.”
