Be careful of the curse that falls on young lovers
Starts so soft and sweet and turns them to hunters
A man who’s pure of heart and says his prayers by night
May still become a wolf when the autumn moon is bright

and you’re trying not to tell him that you love him,
and you’re trying to choke down the feeling,

like a prayer for which no words exist, and you feel your heart
taking root in your body, like you’ve discovered something
you didn’t even have a name for.”
