OTHER VERSIONS

  • DiC’s English dub (titled “Last Resort”):

While speaking to Usagi/Serena, Prince Endymion/Darien claimed that he had never heard the name “Darien” before. Yet his modern day and past life names were one and the same.

[EPISODE] 46. Usagi’s Everlasting Wish! A New Reincarnation.

Series: Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon

Kana: うさぎの想いは永遠に! 新しき転生
Romaji: Usagi no Omoi wa Towa ni! Atarashiki Tensei

Original Air Date: February 27, 1993

Director: Kunihiko Ikuhara
Writer: Sukehiro Tomita
Animation Director: Kazuko Tadano

Plot: The fate of the planet is up to Usagi, who is brought before Queen Beryl for the final battle.

TRIVIA

  • Kae Araki played Usagi/Sailor Moon until Kotono Mitsuishi recovered from her illness. Kotono returned in episode 51, and Kae later voiced Chibiusa.
  • In 1994, this episode came in second in Animage magazine’s favorite episode poll.
  • Keiko Han was finally credited as Queen Beryl. Previously, she was only listed as Luna.

LASTS

  • The following were seen for the last time (not counting stock footage used in future episodes): Moon Healing Escalation, Queen Beryl, Queen Metalia, the Moon Stick, and the Orgel.
  • This episode featured the only use of Moon Prism Power.

OTHER VERSIONS

  • DiC’s English dub (titled “Day of Destiny”):

The last two episodes of the Dark Kingdom story were combined into one episode. Several scenes were edited, or they were cut out altogether. The fight between Dark Prince Endymion/Prince Darien and Sailor Moon was severely altered, notably for time and violence. Much like the Sailor Senshi/Sailor Scouts in DiC’s script, Mamoru/Darien and Usagi/Serena did not die as they did in the original Japanese version. The whole concept of the Sailor Senshi and Mamoru being reincarnated was not used at all. Instead, the Sailor Scouts and Darien all survived, but without their recent memories intact.
