Dani Love Games

Nikolaj calling out narrative and character inconsistencies (and captaining the SS Braime), Isaac exposing that a relevant Bran scene was cut for the sake of “shock value” but just left everyone confused, Sophie dragging Littlefinger apologists on Twitter, and Emilia and Kit physically gagging at the atrocious storyline they were written into, I love this cast.

As she meets and becomes more familiar with Jon Snow, Dany’s outfits appear lined with fur, a staple of Northern attire that feels symbolic of her growing affection for the King in the North. “There is obviously some chemistry at work! I wanted to reflect this with a dramatic yet extremely practical costume,” said Michele Clapton (costume designer). Later, Dany’s white fur coat also shows another connection to Northern people. “I took reference from the Wildlings’ attire, particularly the coat that is worn by Jon Snow which was in turn influenced by Mance Rayder. I wanted to define Dany’s shape by cutting into and shaping the fur. Also, I was keen to create a warrior look, a thing of beauty,” Clapton said. All in all, it took 12 weeks of work, with fake fur, to create the look. (x)

Thank you, Dany.
—  can we talk about how freaking PERSONAL that was?! I really don’t remember ANYONE who would speak to Dany with such straightforwardness and gentleness!
Khal Drogo always called her either ‘Khaleesi’ or ‘Moon of his Life’, Jorah or Daario - ‘Khaleesi’ or ‘Your Grace’. They all treated her like a Queen (who she obviously is).
And here we have Jon Snow. A man who loved once but has tragically lost his beloved. He knows the feeling of loss better than anyone and now he sees this powerful woman going through something heartbreaking. He feels responsible for it and wants to comfort her. Not because he has to.
He may know Dany for a short amount of time but already feels emotionally attached to her (and vice versa ;) ).
Jon sees more than just the Heir to the Iron Throne.
He sees a human being with the surface of a strong and beautiful woman.

Not enough people are talking about this, honestly. Jon can not understand how Dany, this incredibly inspiring and otherworldly woman, could ever think she was anything less than extraordinary. She’s unlike anyone he’s ever known. They didn’t meet under the best circumstances, but she came into his life like a whirlwind. This beautiful woman with her dragons that no one thought would ever exist again, and her people that are dedicated to her by choice, and her good heart and her dream for the future. Who echoes his same words from the past over and over again, and has no idea that it takes his breath away every time. Who surprises him at every turn, and earned his respect and his loyalty because she deserved it. She gave him hope where there was none. Hope that they will stand a chance against the Night King. Hope for the people he vowed to protect. Hope for the future of the realm. Hope that his heart will love again. This moment is so revealing because its the core of why Jon feels so deeply about Daenerys. She’s not like everybody else. She’s new and different and better, and she’s everything that he didn’t know he needed.

I never thought Dragons would exist again, no one did. The people who follow you know that you made something impossible happen, maybe that helps them believe that you can make other impossible things happen, build a world that’s different from the shit one they’ve always known. But if you use them to melt castles and burn cities you’re not different…you’re just more of the same

Daenerys Targaryen costume series  → The Wedding Dress

↳ Dany’s wedding dress was a pale purple colour similar to the one she was presented to the Khal in, though her wedding dress is more structured and less revealing. The dress was worn twice, once at her wedding to Drogo and once at his funeral. Decorated with a three-headed-dragon pin to represent her house both times. At her wedding, the dress was worn with arm rings that carry extra material, and with heeled shoes. At her husbands funeral, the dress was worn with her Dothraki riding boots and the arm rings were left off. The dress burned away to ashes in the fire.
