A-Z Book Tag

I was tagged by my DM jaz-fireforge

Author you’ve read the most: I honestly have no idea. By sheer number of books, probably Brian Jacques  since I devoured the Redwall series when I was younger. Other honorable mentions include Terry Brooks (the Shanara series), Tamora Pierce (just in general), and Scott Westerfield (the Midnighters and Uglies series)

Best Sequel Ever: Probably Touching Darkness from the Midnighters series. It was just good lore expansion and character work.

Currently Reading: Something that’s sitting in a pile behind me, but I don’t know what. I tried to start reading Drew Karpyshyn’s Children of Fire, but then I realized I had already read it >.<

Drink of Choice while reading: I mostly drink water, but on those good ‘curl up with a book’ days, nothing beats hot cocoa.

E-reader of Physical book: Physical copies are my preference for pleasure reads, although I really appreciate pdfs of reference books.

Fictional character you probably would have actually dated in HS: ??????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Glad you gave this book a chance: Unwind by Neal Shusterman.

Hidden Gem Book: It’s Kind of a Funny Story by Ned Vizzini. Ho shit did I need this book when I found it and it’s one of my favourite books of all time.

Important moment in your reading life: Coming to the realization that I didn’t have to just read fantasy series like The Iron Tower or the Shanara series, but that I could enjoy whatever I picked off the shelf.

Kind of books you won’t read: ??? I’ll read just about anything

Longest book you’ve read: By the page? Probably one of the Gotrek and Felix omnibuses that my dad lent to me. But one book that I remember going on forever was The Iron Tower by Dennis L. McKiernan. Started that just before 5th grade and it was so dense. I loved it.

Major book hangover because of: Unwind was pretty bad. I started it the night before a school trip and then finished it and it was supposed to be my reading material on the bus, so I had nothing to do except sit there and think about it.

Number of bookcases you own: Just one back home in AZ, but that doesn’t stop me from owning a shit ton more books than that one bookcase ever should hold

One book you’ve read multiple times: The entire Midnighter’s series. Seriously I read those books like 13 times each >.<

Preferred place to read: In bed if I can.

Quote that inspires you/gives you all the feels from a book you’ve read: It’s actually from the Star Wars: Legacy comics, but “We take what we’re given,” is a quote I’ve incorporated into my life philosophy

Reading Regret: I’ve only read 4ish of the Series of Unfortunate Events books. They were such a hot commodity at the library that I just ‘meh’ed and went back to reading Redwall.

Series you started and need to finish: The Demon Cycle series by Peter V. Brett. My roommate has all of the books that I haven’t read, I’ve just been focused on other things.

Three of your All-Time favourite books: It’s Kind of a Funny Story is for sure top of that list, but past that the War of the Spider Queen series was hella

Unapologetic fangirl for: R.A. Salvadore, I loved the Drizz’t series growing up although I think I need to go back

Very excited for this release more than all the others: None at the moment. I haven’t been keeping up on my reading as much bookwise so there aren’t any series that I’m super excited for.

Worst bookish habit: I forget to eat when I’m reading. Seriously it’s like reading is a form of nourishment for me, so it’ll be two days into a new book and then I realized I’ve eaten like a banana in that time.

X-marks the spot: start at the top left of your shelf and pick the 27th book: Well if we’re going off of my bookshelf back home that’s likely a comic book.

Your latest book purchase: I got the hunger games series for free from a bookstore, so that was nice.

ZzZ-snatcher book: last book that kept you up WAY late: I’ve been staying up WAY late, so that doesn’t really count. But I really put my nose to the grindstone for my last HP reread.

Alright and I have no idea how many people I’m supposed to tag, so I’m going to tag cybernetdryad, abetterfatethanwisdom, dramaloser24601, superdom1123, sharpewit, armanij103, thewolfthatfellforlittlered, shinygamergirl

And 69vantas I know reading isn’t your biggest thing, but if you want then go for it.
