Brandon Flowers recently spoke with Mike Jones of DC101.
In the interview, Brandon discusses his Wrigley Field performance, his favorite spots in Las Vegas, how the tour is going, the recording process for ‘The Desired Effect’, the collaborations he has participated in, the iHeartRadio Music Festival, The Killers annual Christmas song, and recording The Killers’ fifth studio album.
Of note, Brandon confirms ‘Digging Up The Heart’ was a contender to be released on ‘Direct Hits’, semi-confirms that The Killers will release their tenth RED Christmas song, and indicates The Killers may be back in the studio as soon as October.

My friend just entered a contest to meet Muse (basically like my fob contest but from a different station). I’ll try not to spam it because last time I got a lot of people mad at me for it, but I’ll be sharing it once a day. These are her idols and since she helped me meet mine, I want to return the favor. Rules are pretty much the same, votes only count once a day and they will cause her to move up to the leatherboard. Contest ends August 26th
This was seriously one of the better interviews I’ve seen in a LONG time, no real lags, no sense of awkwardness, or weird/off questions like in some interviews, it seemed more like the dudes were just “chattin’” versus a legitimate interview or press. There was some good repartee going on and DC101 kinda rules. :)
I will say it kinda stunk that Creative switched up the Main Event on last night’s Raw from John Cena-Roman Reigns-Dean Ambrose vs. Seth Rollins-Bray Wyatt-Randy Orton, I was actually a tad stoked about that pairing but oh well.. :)
P.S. It’s really cool what he says about Joey Mercury, that was neat.
‘Sunday is going to be the toughest fight of Roman Reigns’ life! He’s
defending his WWE World Heavyweight Championship against 29 other
Superstars in the Royal Rumble!Roman and I spoke today about his odds in the Royal Rumble
on Sunday, how proud he should be that he pissed off Vince McMahon
enough that it’s now personal, the possibility of NXT Superstars being
entered into the Royal Rumble and how Sting deserves to be in the WWE Hall of Fame!
Good luck, Champ, and sorry about the biggest loser thing!
On being WWE World Heavyweight Champion: “It’s
a dream. It’s an honor. It’s a great responsibility and it’s cool
because it helps you evolve, it helps you break the mold of what you
were doing. After chasing it for so long, to have it on my shoulder, now
I’m pushing it, now I’m taking it to the next level, I’m trying to
reach grounds that I didn’t think I could reach.”
On the odds of winning the Royal Rumble: “I’m not just in
there with one guy, like you said. I’m in there with 29 other dudes who
are trying to take what’s mine and I’ll be damned. Screw that, I’m not
going to be the biggest loser. They’re going to have to knock me out and
drag me out of there. Brock’s going to have to German me into the
stands to get me out.”
On Sting’s being in WWE in 2015 and now going to the HOF: “To
be in this business for as long as he has, that’s a great testament to
himself. To his work ethic, his passion, to his will to stay in shape
and to continue to push himself physically and mentally. I think it was a
great opportunity and I hope I get to see him many more times because
he was an absolute gentleman and it was such a positive experience every
time I met him.”
On NXT Guys possibly showing up on Sunday: “You
got your Finn Balors, your Samoa Joes, your Sami Zayn, those
journeymen, the guys who have been at it in this business for such a
long time. It’s such a great opportunity for them to sink their teeth in
and reap the benefits of all their hard work. But, that being said, if
they come in my ring, debut or not, I’m going to send their ass flying
over that top rope. That’s the way it’s gotta be.”
