This was on August 16th, the 2nd Day of Rage, after the #EgyptMassacre at Rabaa AlAdawiya where the larger of two anti-coup sit-ins was located.

This young boy was helping the hundreds of thousands walking by as part of a rally from Nasr City headed towards Ramsis Sq. His name was Michael and he was helping us drink, wash our faces and make ablution prior to praying.

Oh and btw he was Christian. His father stood behind him at the faucet pointing and telling him to give this person and that person. Those who walked, noticed the little cross on his arm and thanked him generously, kissed his hands and head, telling him we love him and we’re brothers and sisters.

This gives me hope in Egypt.
