How To Revive A Sleeping Giant

By Saheli RC, writing from Singapore

Football is like that! Paraguay vs Venezuela (Copa America 2011 Semifinals)

Paraguay’s only clear goal chance in the game! = Stopped by Renny Vega!

Vizcarrondo’s disallowed goal (well disallowed but VERY UNLUCKY)

Moreno’s header to the crossbar!

+ Villar stops Rondon shoot!

Maldonado’s skill + cross to Miku!

Miku shoots on target and!!

Miku’s like… Seriously!!? (We all were!)

The legend Juan Arango takes a free kick!

Seriously!!? again!!1?

(This man played with a muscle tear since halfway of the second half, he is 31 years old and he played all the 120 minutes! He’s like the Venezuelan Ryan Giggs!)

And after all that Paraguay, who has not won a single game in this cup (3 ties in group phase, and two penalty shootout pass to the final) got to the Copa America Final against Uruguay

Venezuela left the tournament (well, there is still the third place spot game against Peru) as heroes who played football like is meant to be (by a lot of sport journalists).

But that’s football, and that’s what makes this the beautiful game! Football will give you sad moments, unfair moments, happy moments. Football makes us feel alive!

And beware Peru!! We are taking home the 3rd spot!!

And Uruguay, please…Win the CUP!

WE ARE STILL UNBEATEN AND WE’LL LEAVE UNBEATEN!!

VIVA LA VINOTINTO!

UNBEATEN HEROES!
