½ cup sifted flour ¼ tsp baking powder ½ tsp salt ¼ cup soft butter ½ cup sugar 1 egg 1 ½ tsp vanilla 1 ½ squares melted chocolate 2 cups nut meats
Sift the first three ingredients. Mix butter and sugar until creamy. Add egg and vanilla; mix well. Mix in chocolate, then flour mixture. Fold in nuts. Drop by teaspoonfuls one inch apart on greased cookie sheet. Bake 10 minutes in 350°F oven. Yield 2 ½ dozen.
Chocolate Butter Cookies
1 pound butter or margarine 1 cup sugar 2 eggs 1 teaspoon vanilla 4 cups flour 2 squares of chocolate or ½ cup cocoa
Cream butter and sugar. Add well beaten eggs, vanilla and flour. Mix well. Then chill, roll and cut. Bake in 400°F oven for ten or fifteen minutes. Yields approximately eight dozen.
Tricia and Julie’s recipe for Butterscotch Bars
1 can Eagle Brand condensed milk 2 cups crushed graham crackers 1 small package butterscotch bits
Put ingredients in bowl and mix well. Spread in greased cake pan. Bake in 340 degree oven for about 22 minutes. Cut into bars while hot.
