Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to say our goodbyes to our dear friend America, who died recently after a brief, intense battle with fascism and a long, slow battle with carbs. Thank you all for coming out to help say farewell. It’s not easy. But at least America died doing what it loved most: deep-frying Halloween candy while white men tried to explain to women what jazz is.

America was sick for a really long time. In the early stages, I think we were all in denial. You could tell that America was unwell—public displays of brutality, deeply internalized prejudice, “Entourage”—but it seemed curable. Just a case of plain old electile dysfunction. We thought that we’d caught the fascism early, but, as we now know, it had metastasized. America was more Florida than country by the end.

America was born right here, in America, and lived here its entire life. America was always about family. It is survived by its similarly ill father, Britain, and its large brood of children: baseball, Google, fireworks, losing your fingers to fireworks, giving your Uber driver only four stars because he talked to you, thinking granola is healthy, Chicago (the place), “Chicago” (the musical), “Chicago” (the movie adaptation of the musical), Chicago (the band), “Chicago Fire,” “Chicago Med,” “Chicago P.D.,” “Chicago Justice,” “Chicago ‘Chicago’ ” (a show about the Chicago production of the musical “Chicago,” coming to NBC this fall), and a bunch of wars.

I’d personally be nowhere without America. America was there when I was born, when I got married, when I saw Janet Jackson’s nipple at the Super Bowl. Remember that? After that happened, none of us slept for days, because we had never seen the pointy part of a boob on our TVs before, and it really upset us. America was really cool that way. It would always get mad when you’d see the pointy part of a boob on a TV. I’m gonna miss that.

However, we should not dwell on the loss of our dear country, friend, and place where all the Cheesecake Factories and Lids stores are. Today, let’s celebrate America’s life, and remember all of the remarkable things it accomplished and how many actors playing Spider-Man who keep getting cuter and younger were inside of it. America gave us so much. And, boy, did it look good for its age. America was two hundred and forty-one years old when it died, but it didn’t look a day over a hundred and sixty-four! It looked so young, it could’ve been the very same America that put its own citizens in internment camps!

America got a bunch of things really right. Mostly how to put food inside other food. Anyone can just eat a chicken. But in a duck?! In a turkey?! In a gun?! No one is going to forget the Turduckenun any time soon. America was so inventive that way. And, I mean, everyone does silly stuff when they’re young. America was beautiful, too. Sure, it was a little lumpy, and you could always see its Florida through its pants, but it just got hotter with age. So hot. It was so, so hot by the time it died. Almost too hot to live in.

If there’s anything we should take away from this tragedy, it’s that you should always check yourself for fascism, especially around your midsection. It’s easy enough to do in the shower. If you catch it early, it can be cleared up with a rigorous regimen of local elections and books and yoga. But America was cocky. Nothing bad had ever happened to it before! It assumed this fascism would pass, just like the Second World War and “Entourage” had.

What a shame. America was just the best damn country in the whole U.S.A. I’m sorry that I’m getting choked up. I get really emotional when I think of America, and also I took too big of a bite of Turduckenun and it got lodged in my windpipe. We will all miss America greatly. Every time I see an American flag or a gun, I’ll think of America. But we can all rest easy knowing America is in a better place now: Russia.

Most American school children learn that Japan attacked Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941, leading us to join World War II. This week marks the 75th anniversary of Japanese-Americans being subsequently rounded up and interned as suspected enemies of the state. But there’s another tragic and untold story of American citizens who were also interned during the war. I’m a member of the Ahtna tribe of Alaska and I’ve spent the better part of 30 years uncovering and putting together fragments of a story that deserves to be told.

In June 1942, Japan invaded and occupied Kiska and Attu, the westernmost islands of Alaska’s Aleutian Chain, an archipelago of 69 islands stretching some 1,200 miles across the North Pacific Ocean toward Russia’s Kamchatka Peninsula. From a strategic perspective, Japan wanted to close what they perceived as America’s back door to the Far East. For thousands of years, the islands have been inhabited by a resourceful indigenous people called Aleuts. During the Russian-American Period (1733 to 1867), when Alaska was a colonial possession of Russia, Russian fur-seekers decimated Aleut populations through warfare, disease, and slavery.

Shortly after Japan’s invasion, American naval personnel arrived with orders to round up and evacuate Aleuts from the Aleutian Chain and the Pribilof Islands to internment camps almost 2,000 miles away near Juneau. Stewardship of the internment camps would fall under the jurisdiction of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Services (USF&WS). Furthermore, orders included the burning of the villages to the ground, including their beloved churches, as part of a “scorched earth” policy. The Army’s stated purpose was to protect the Aleuts, who were American citizens, from the dangers of war. But one officer told astonished Aleuts that it was, as he put it, “Because ya’ll look like Japs and we wouldn’t want to shoot you.” That exchange is part of a documentary video called Aleut Evacuation.

My story takes place in the near-future. What would happen to international politics if America took up a totally isolationist stance?

By total isolation stance, I am going to take the following assumptions:

a) Closed borders (no one comes in, no one goes out)

b) Media and Internet censorship (only American-produced content is accessible by the general American public)

b-2) Any media released by the United States to the outside world is state controlled.

c) Withdrawal from international organizations

d) Withdrawal from trade agreements

e) US troops stationed outside of the US would be recalled back home

f) a-d happen instantaneously and without prior warning.

SM has been like this since ages

Here we go with a really L O N G ASS explanation about SM and he’s promoting ways.

I’ve been a fan of mostly all of SM groups since like 10 years except maybe TVXQ/DBSK, I started as a SJ-KRY Stan and I knew nothing about other groups and the internal dynamic of the company I was like this for like 3-4 years till SJ “Mr. Simple” era, to be clear ALL YOUR GOING ABOUT TO READ IS JUST MY EXPERIENCE AND OPINION FROM MY SM FAN VIEW SO…

ALL of the SM artist have had this kind of “scandal” in their own way and in their biggest era, BUT not just SM makes this, YG, JYP and smaller companies makes this to let their ongoing and growing groups get bigger in terms of numbers, if I have to put this in other way it’s like a competition between companies to prove which group of theirs is popular.

You’ll see, in the 2nd generation of K-pop groups like SJ & BB debut, it’s pretty known VIP’s and ELF’s are like enemies, just like EXO & BTS and their own fandoms (EXO-L’s and ARMY’s), the problem it’s not the publicity tactic that the companies held (I said that’s not the problem cuz this method is hold by numerous and different kinds of companies PUBLICLY since the 50’s), the problem is when it is not well managed.

SM is one of the 3 biggest entertainment companies all over Korea, you know when you are the best student in your class all the professors have an eye on you and even if you commit small mistakes everyone is just like HOW, IS SOMETHING WRONG GOING ON? SM maybe is one of the 3 biggest but is kind of dumb when it came to manage scandals, yes they paid for ulzzangs to promote THEIR GROUPS not just NCT because Instagram, Vyrl and other social media caught the attention not just of Korean citizens but international community, but they kinda choose the worst of the worst ulzzangs not because they’re not popular enough cuz clearly they’re more than influential to gain the attention not just from NCTzen’s but the web media, I said worst of the worst because most of this ulzzangs usually express how they gain money.

I mean by this when you are a true fan maybe low-key but true fan it is just to noticeable from the other part of the world but this is the problem whenever SM applies this method to promote their groups, SM groups have (not said by me but by ex-trainees that now are in other companies) the hardest and difficult trainee period, let’s take Johnny as an example:

Johnny was a trainee for 9 years, he travel to Korea periodically for 4 years and until he end high school he went to Korea permanently until now, when he started proper trainee system in SM he trained everyday for more than 16hrs not just dancing, he practice singing, learnt Korean properly, MC training, modeling, singing and other stuff that comes with being an SM wanna be Idol. Being an SM trainee is enough to learn how is to be an idol with out being one properly.
There for why many sm trainees leaves the company at an early beginning.

Returning to the point, SM is paying ulzzangs to attend NCT’s events not because they don’t care about the fans (well knowing SM maybe there’s a little of that) but because NCT is a rising group (and they have now other ways of make them bigger not like in SJ or SNSD era that they only have TV and that’s too much) they need to get known in what ever way they need to being known.

Yeah, it’s kind of well actually it’s very frustrating that they don’t get on count NCTzen’s efforts, because well SM could have pay those Ulzzangs to promote them on SNS but they don’t pay them to vote for them on public charts, believe me SM has their restrictions it’s like a rule between companies, they may pay to people who know nothing about their groups but the play fair and square.

We have to keep supporting our boys on order to make clear all this bullshit other fandoms are creating of our boys cuz if we just keep there staring and complaining we are going to give them the reason. It’s funny tho cuz many idols were ulzzangs before being trainees so we have to support them and SM if we want them to be bigger and keep the support of their company.

I love NCT too much, they give me enough synergy to start my day and makes me happy, please other fandoms don’t take this tactic to depreciate our group, we NCTzen’s have work since they were trainees to make them be where they are, if you don’t know you have to look at their ments when they won an award, SM artists in general are so thankful to their respective fandoms and even their antis because of we they are the groups we stan just like your fandom work to make your group’s grow we have work as much as they so please.

Edit: I wanted to explain this but turns that I only got angry and spit whatever came to my mind don’t judge, is 3:00 am and I have a headache I’m going to edit this properly later with links and other stuff.

With the passing of Chris Cornell, the world has lost not only a legendary musician but also a true Global Citizen. While he achieved international fame rocking out on stage with a four-octave vocal range, his philanthropy outside of sold-out arenas was perhaps more far-reaching. Throughout his career he supported many charities including Aid Still Required, Global Angels, Live Earth, Nordoff Robbins, MusiCares and Save the Music Foundation. In 2012, he and his wife Vicky founded the Chris and Vicky Cornell Foundation to protect children around the world facing homelessness, poverty, abuse, and neglect.. Cornell’s commitment to making great music was rivaled only by his drive to help those in need. He will be greatly missed. 📷: Danny Clinch

America Was NEVER Great

Dear Donald Trump,

Was American great when it stole this land from the Natives?

Was America great when it tried enslaving them, killing them with diseases and murder?

Was America great when it took people from Africa and enslaved them?

Was America great when it regularly beat, lynched, and raped its slaves?

Was America great when it let the KKK come into power?

Was America great when it massacred droves of Natives and forced them off of their own land during the “Manifest Destiny?”

Was America great when half of its people decided that it wanted to secede from the union to keep slavery?

Was America great when it denied women and African Americans the right to vote?

Was America great when it abused the Chinese migrants who built the railroad system?

Was America great when its overestimation of its wealth led to the Great Depression?

Was America great when it discriminated against Jews after they came here post WWII?

Was America great when it committed the Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombings that killed millions of innocent civilians?

Was America great when it forced Japanese American citizens into internment camps?

Was America great when it overthrew a democratically elected leader in Guatemala, installed a dictator and murdered Mayan people all to take their bananas?

Was America great when it let the religious right dictate the lives of people during the 50′s and discriminate against gays?

Was America great during Jim Crow?

Was America great during the Red Scare?

Was America great when it invaded Vietnam in a pointless war?

Was America great when it ignored the AIDS epidemic? (Thanks for your support, Reagan administration)

Was America great when it passed legislation to increase the imprisonment of African Americans?

Was America great when it let 9/11 happen and started the so-called “War against Terror” (An effort to fuel the military industrial complex)?

Was America great when it began a drone strike campaign that regularly targets innocent people? (Abdulrahman Al-awlaki)

Was America great when its police started killing unarmed African Americans and getting away with it?

Are we great now that we’ve allowed North Carolina to pass the HB2 bill and discriminate against transgender women?

When was America ever great? America calls itself “the land of the free” yet it discriminates against people on the basis of skin color, religion, sexual orientation even when our laws say that it’s illegal. We have had a long history of genocide, slavery and intolerance but I’m pretty sure you think that our history as a country is great because you’re straight, white, rich and you’re a bigot. America was never great.

Chapter Two

My mind travels a lot with story making but, I had to put this one up here.

Warning: This story will contain subject matter that may trigger some or some will find sensitive. Dealing with colorism and discrimination. With that being said I chose Junior for this pairing because I feel like its right for him. The girl I make is in my opinion, his match. Also, we know that Junior is savage. No doubt about that, but he is also kinda traditional as well. He also has his moments where he’s kind, caring and thoughtful. You have been warned.

Junior was coming over and although she hadn’t seen him a week and a half, and hardly talked to him an excitement rushed through her blood picturing his face when they would see each other again. He was busy and his music career had him constantly gone, and on interviews this much was true nothing wrong with that. Sometimes, it just got to her and made it hard to feel that deep connection that most other couples had.

Shower done, teeth brushed, dinner cooked, apartment spotless, bottle of red in the wine chiller. She sat down on the couch, in a light pink shift dress that contrasted so nicely against her seal brown skin, the black pearls he had given her laid over her dress for a nice pop. She smoothed her hand over the curls on her head that she struggled for 20 minutes with to get into the perfect messy top knot. She would wow him tonight, tonight he’d want to play before eating.

Her mind drifted back to when they met. Nearly a year ago now. It had been a work function for her, a black and white affair that was mandatory to attend. She was an HR manager at a rather large corporation in Seoul that housed both International and Korea citizens. Naturally hiring an International HR rep had been the best solution. She stood around with a few of the other ladies who worked in her pool, chatting lightly when one of them touched her arm gently directing her attention to a man in the corner watching her.

“He’s watching you. He’s been watching you all night. Do you know him?” The petite blonde to her right asked.

“No. I actually haven’t noticed him.” She smiled at him. Only for him to look surprised that she noticed him as he quickly looked away at a painting behind him. Shrugging she’d continue her conversation with the others until she noticed them backing away slowly.

Junior had decided to approach her, but already decided in his head that she was probably a cocky American. She was probably arrogant and, if not meek and couldn’t speak a lick of Korean. He would speak to her in Korean and if she didn’t answer he’d simply smile and walk away. There wasn’t a pretty face or an amazing body in the world that would make him accept a woman who did not speak his language. Or even read it!

“You saw me, looking at you, but then you didn’t want to approach me?” He asked her cheekily, watching her turn her figure towards him.

God, look at her skin. It was flawless, so brown, like chocolate. He imagined his tongue running along her neck.

Taken aback by his brash attitude she would find herself turning towards him, tempering the fire that threatened inside. “Excuse me? I looked up to find you looking at me, I hadn’t noticed you all night. I’m not familiar with your face in this building.”

Junior didn’t expect that she would answer him in Korean, much less address him properly and with the same sass he had thrown at her. He could take it and dish it out. “I didn’t know you were familiar with everyone who worked here, amazing memory.”

Grinning she set her champagne glass on the serving tray that went pass them. “I think I’d remember yours. Permanent scowl and all.”

Picking up two glasses, Junior handed one to her and took a sip of his own before answering. “Yet, I am memorable. You don’t recognize me?”

She would take a glass from him and sip her champagne as well. “Am I supposed to?” She grew a bit worried now that he was from a partner company, and getting sassy with him was probably a bad idea.

“Perhaps.” Junior held out his arm for her to take it and directed her towards the balcony of the hotel.

Gingerly taking his arm, she’d follow him to the warm summer air outside away from all the noise. Once he got to the railing, Junior turned and smiled at her. “My name is Park Jin-Young. I’m an entertainer, a singer. With Got7. That’s my group.”

She had heard the name in passing, but not his and so she smiled and nodded her head. “My name is >>>. I’m the HR manager here.”

Junior held his hand out for her to shake. “It’s a pleasure.”

Just then her phone buzzed with a text coming through.

She sighed, not wanting to wrinkle her dress and so stood up to make sure there was nothing left to do. She had framed a picture of them taken the day they kissed on her mantle, and she lovingly rubbed a hand over his face. Re-living the memory.

They had been together 3 months now and, she pretty much knew Junior by now. His likes and dislikes and his attitude. She had only met JB and Mark from his group, he didn’t want to bring her around the others. ‘I don’t want to have Jackson flirting with you every minute while we are there.’ He told her as they made their way back to her apartment after eating at a restaurant.

She began to argue with him about her not flirting back and how he shouldn’t be so jealous when he grabbed her arm stopping her from leaving the elevator.

“I’m not jealous. I just don’t like competition.” She rolled her eyes at him pulling away towards the door only for him to hold her steadfast yanking her back to him.

“I’m serious, I don’t do that. If you want to be with someone else, I won’t stop you.” He let her arm go, watching her face for some sort of acquiescence to his words.

She bit her lip, fighting the irritation she felt now. “There is no competition if I’m only looking at you Junior. What’s the real problem here? We’ve been together 3 months and I’ve met 2 members of your group. We don’t go out in public. You don’t acknowledge me on anything. You don’t even come to my work to see me. It’s like we are sneaking around. Or are you ashamed of me?”

Junior waved his hand dismissively at her, walking out of the elevator. “You’re being irrational. I’m with you now what does all that matter?” She saw him walking in the direction of her apartment, turning briefly to look at her.

“It matters to me. I don’t want to feel like you have to hide me.” Sighing Junior pinched the area between his eyes.

“Please, let’s go I want to walk you to your door.” He could be endearing and sweet and he could also be an ass.

She stepped from the elevator pausing at her door, looking back at him. “Are you ashamed of our relationship? I want to know now, because I don’t want to be-”

He cut off her words with a kiss. JinYoung pressing his lips to her full ones savoring the taste of her as his arms snaked around her waist. She stood not defeated, but flabbergasted at the roughness of his kiss and the squeezing of his hands on her butt. His tongue lapped gently at her lips begging entrance, one of his hands snaking it’s way under her dress running across her thigh. She moaned into his mouth as he lifted her leg around his waist, pressing himself to her, letting her feel the growing issue in his pants that was certain to show her how he felt. Pulling away Junior let her leg down, body pressed to hers, practically smashing her against the door as he rubbed his lips on her whispering. “Is this enough for you?”

She sighed, the kiss plaguing her memory and making her core tremble with need. A buzz at the door sounded and she practically fell running to the door. Smoothing her dress, and checking her makeup one last time she, put on her best smile and fought the shaking in her hands as she opened the door.

There he stood waiting white roses in hand mixed with a few pink orchids. He was wearing a button down shirt and slacks. Moving the flowers from in front of his face, he stepped forward, wrapping an arm around her waist pulling her body into his. God, she reacted so fast, it was embarrassing. Warming up, she leaned forward for a kiss only to have him nip at her lip and push her inside the apartment.

“You will wait. It’s been too long and I won’t have the night over with so quickly.”

okay I saw a post wondering what Enjolras is canonically Good At? so here we go, it’s actually pretty impressive:

- knows French Revolutionary history inside and out, down to the last detail, like…how… do you know how hard it is to find decent FRev scholarship…how much nerd binging has he done on the subject? All of it. All the reading. He did it

- can keep track of multiple contacts and schedule public events like whoa?? like maybe it’s just my introversion/brain damage talking here but I cannot even imagine having the kind of brain that goes “oh hey how about these NINE RANDOM HUGE GROUPS OF PEOPLE ? I know what their mood and schedule  and who would be a good guest speaker and I can line this shit up so it gets taken care of in ONE NIGHT friends and citizens, ALSO perfect internal map of the city so I know where everything’s going “??  Enjolras has that kind of brain , he can do that, frigging how

-generally assessing people’s strengths

- SUPER STEALTH mode and apparently freaky awesome night vision, can sneak through occupied territory at night in places where the lamps are out without getting caught DESPITE probably Glowing with Symbolism

-pretty kickass improv public speaker?

- can keep track of where everyone is and what’s going on  in active combat while actually fighting  like what is this kid’s freaky physical awareness superpower?? how can I have it

- hits hard enough to break guns  can there please be more of Enjolras just punching a gun to death

- can also hold a whole battalion  of armed troops at bay with a frigging stick

(And while I realize some of these skills transfer to AU settings better than others I Live In Hope for the Coffeeshop AU that manages to invent a reason for Enjolras to WRECK FRICKING SHOP with a broom handle or something, WOULD YOU LIKE TO SPEAK TO THE MANAGER??  WELL **BUZZSAW NOISE AND NOW A TABLE IS IN SPLINTERS** plz consider the potential hilarity )

Things Enjolras is Canonically Bad At:
-Getting out of the way of doors before they smack him in his statuesque butt

- man can carry a whole barricade in his head but can’t step forward three inches before a door swings shut

-what even is an Enjolras
