Famous Last Words
  • Jack Daniel (Owner of Jack Daniel’s Whiskey) - died from an infection from a stubbed toe.  Right before he died he uttered his famous last words, “Just one more drink.”
  • General John Sedgwick - Right before Civil War General John Sedgwick was shot off his horse he told those with him, “They couldn’t hit an elephant at this distance.”
  • Marie Antoinette - As she was being led to her death at the guillotine, Marie Antoinette accidently stepped on her executioners foot.  Her last words were “Pardon me sir.  I did not do it on purpose.”
  • Dominique Bouhours (Famous French Grammarian) - Always a stickler for perfect grammar, Dominique Bouhours uttered at the point of death “I’m about to die or dying: Both of these statements is true.”
