Awkward – Joe Sugg (Part Two of “Do you ever shut the fuck up?”)
You looked at Conor with big eyes, still not comprehending what had happened. Conor left the door open and then headed back towards the living room. As you looked into Joe’s room, you found him staring straight back at you, eyes equally big, blushing madly.
“C-Can I come in?”, your voice was barely more than a whisper.
Joe nodded, and after a few awkward moments, you sat down on his bed next to him.
Silence followed, since neither of you wanted to say anything.
You could hear Joe swallow before he finally said something. “Kind of ruined it now, didn’t I?”
You turned your head to look at him, but he quickly looked away, not wanting to meet your gaze.
“How many plans did you guys make?”, you asked, answering him only with just a question yourself.
“’bout a dozen, probably.”
“The ice skating?” He nodded. “The joined seats in the movie theatre?” He nodded again.
“How did you know?”, Joe suddenly asked.
“It was pretty obvious after what Conor said, you know. Why did you back out every time though?”
“I didn’t want to make things awkward. But now it’s awkward. And I don’t deserve you.”
“Oh c’mon Joe. How could you not deserve me? You’re amazing! You are so talented, like you’re one hell of an artist, your books are amazing and you’re so passionate about everything that you do. But you’re still staying modest through all of it. And I might have a crush on you as well.” Your voice got pretty silent towards the end of it, as you realized you were rambling like hell.
But Joe heard it nevertheless. And he looked at you with such surprise in his eyes that it looked just way too cute. You blushed.
“Would it be okay if I kissed you?”, he then asked.
You nodded, whereas you both leant in and your lips finally touched after what felt like an eternity of playing cat-and-mouse.
