You can find your identity in the damage that’s been done to you. You find your identity in your wounds, in your scars, in the places where you’ve been beat up and you turn them into a medal. We all wear the things we’ve survived with some honour, but the real honour is in also transcending them.
I went to Taylor’s show here in Nashville a year or so ago. I’ve never seen anything like it. I swear a couple times I felt Taylor was looking at me. The energy connection and the personal connection with her audience, I would compare it to Springsteen, but it was a level above! The energy between her and the fans, it’s phenomenal!
Taylor is one of the greatest songwriter’s ever to put a pencil to a piece of paper.
