#ThankYouBones Week

Day 12: 1 Bones Cast, final THANK YOU

“In our culture, we all search for closure. But closure is an illusion. Science shows us that the universe is constantly in flux. It’s what allows our friendships and our love to constantly surprise us.”

“Quantum physicists have postulated that the way we experience time is an illusion, that it doesn’t happen in a linear way. That past and present– in reality, there’s no difference.”

Those good times with Bones are happening now. They will always be happening. And we can keep them alive forever. It’s not goodbye. Bones will live on- through the fans, cast & crew, and 246 brilliant, beautiful, incredible, awe-inspiring episodes. Always

Booth and Brennan, a great love story, THE great love story. I never knew where I stood on love. It seemed a foreign concept, and whilst it still does seem that way to me, I’ve found renewed faith in the idea of love as a whole. I owe that to Booth and Brennan and the love they have demonstrated over the past 12 years/seasons. I have never known, nor witnessed, a love so pure and magical. They experience the struggles of real life couples, they have realistic conflict, and they’ve been through more than any couple could ever imagine. But they’ve come out stronger on the other side. They ALWAYS come out stronger and that is owed to their individual traits but also to the love they share and the faith they have in each other.

Booth loves Brennan more than anything. His love for her far outweighs the negative feelings he has for anything else. It was because of Brennan that he decided to start recovering from gambling. It was because of Brennan that he picked himself up time and time again because he wanted to be a better person for her. The best thing about this is that Brennan never asked him to be a better person. She loved him just the way he was as well, and rather than making him feel small, she encouraged him to do better by reminding him of who he is. Booth does the same in return even before they were together romantically. And that’s because he knew right from the beginning and would do anything in his power to make sure she is safe and happy.

They have the fundaments of a healthy, loving relationship. They support, encourage, love, care, comfort, and help each other be better and do better. They are the definition of love. Their relationship was built on trust and faith in each other (absolutely not, ludicrous) and they developed a healthy friendship before they entered into a romantic relationship. They knew each other inside out. They could soothe each other with a simple touch. Ignite fireworks inside each other with a touch of a hand on an arm or leg.

Brennan never believed that love existed. She dreamed of getting married when she was a child and she even had a wedding dress picked out. But she didn’t believe that love would ever conquer her. As soon as Seeley Booth walked into that lecture hall, her life changed forever. Suddenly there was someone who cared about where she was and if she was safe, who wanted her to smile and laugh, who wanted to give her every good experience, who cared for her, who hugged her when she was sad, who came over with takeout at 12am when she couldn’t sleep. He wanted everything for her and he was determined to give it to her.

Of course, not all love stories can start off perfectly. They didn’t talk to each for a year and they butt heads more often than not but they had a spark that was undeniable. A spark that deserved to be explored. So explore they did. And what they found was something more than they ever knew was possible. They found a love that only some get to experience. They created a family on top of the family they’d already built with their squints.

Two lonely souls found each other and if Brennan believed in soulmates that’s what she’d call them. Two hearts. Two brains. Four arms. Four legs. One love.

It’s incredible how we always end up with these two.

Just like Booth and Brennan, they are the center. And they had to hold. For everything to work, they’d have to hold.

And they worked everyday. So hard. To give us the best. To have the best work environment. To have this show.

So different people, these two, with such completely different backgrounds and professional situations when they landed on this little show. Yet. They made it work everyday. Through their inside jokes, through their laughs, through hard times, against everything and everybody that didn’t believe this show actually could. They built this amazing friendship.

And the feeling, this friendship that flourished leaves me? Peace. Happiness. Because it’s so pure in so many ways. It’s David and Emily, those two so different that built their bridges together for Booth and Brennan, for Bones. You see it in every smile and photo and moment. There’s a real, deep connection. I’ll hold them so dear to me in my heart forever. I love them.

Thank you David and Emily, for giving me my life as I know it today.

Temperance Brennan represents lonely souls and misunderstood minds. She represents the children who find solace in their knowledge and curiosity. She represents the adults who yearn for something more. She represents the women who realised that their independence is not a reflection of their relationship status. She represents the women that put their careers first. She represents the women who do it all. She represents strength. She represents loyalty, love, and intelligence.

Temperance Brennan is a strong female character who has graced our screens with passion, determination, and emotion for the past 12 years. She has taught us that education is the best thing we can do for ourselves. She has demonstrated what it means to be a leader and how we can share our knowledge with others. She has showed us that unwavering faith and love in friendships is possible regardless of our interpersonal skills or lack thereof. She has made us brave to express ourselves. Temperance Brennan has made us better people.

Temperance Brennan has evolved majorly over the past 12 years. Not only has she grown, but we have grown with her. Every tear she shed, every smile that graced her face, every laugh that left her mouth… We experienced it with her. We were there for her highs and lows, her ups and downs. We watched with anticipation as she saw her father again after 15 years. We cried with her and told her we knew who she was when she didn’t know who she was herself. As her cheeks grew red with embarrassment when she kissed Booth under the mistletoe, we smiled. We were making our own new friends while her friendships with Angela and Cam were being established. We took what we learned from Temperance Brennan and we applied it to our own lives.

We have learned to be logical. To think clearly about our experiences and the situations we are in. We have also been swayed to act in ways that aren’t particularly helpful. This is because Temperance Brennan has learned many skills and lessons throughout the duration of the show. We have watched her make mistakes and say the wrong things. We have said similar things in our own lives. But it is with the patience and willingness to learn that Brennan and ourselves have been able to right our wrongs (or have the skills to do so in the future if we so choose). We struggle together and we flourish together. That’s what happens when you allow yourself to become emotionally attached to someone. Whether it be a real life person or a fictional character. For me, and for many of you, Temperance Brennan is the one person who has stood by my side and I owe every good thing in my life to her.

Temperance Brennan, a child who had been abandoned by her family, a teenager who had been abused by her foster families, a young adult who aged out of the system and supported herself through college, a woman who became the best in her field, a scientist who became a New York Times Bestseller, an accomplished author who became a mother, a mother who got married, a wife who loves and lives and learns and leads. She has experienced happiness beyond her expectations. She has been loved harder than she ever thought possible. Temperance Brennan deserves a good life and that is what she got.

May she live on through our future endeavours. May she stand by our side while we take risks and become the people we want to be. May she stay close to our hearts while we find the happiness that she was blessed with. May she continue to be our inspiration, our friend, and our favourite person.

Goodbye, Temperance Brennan.
I will love and miss you forever.

'Bones' Says Goodbye After 12 Seasons: A Look Back at Brennan and Booth's 22 Best Episodes
At the heart of the long-running Fox procedural were Emily Deschanel and David Boreanaz’s characters and their undeniable dynamic.

Bones signs off on Tuesday, after 12 seasons of crime solving, evidence examining, blood, guts and, most importantly, bones. But at the core of the long-running Fox procedural – the “heart of the matter,” if you will – was a partnership between forensic anthropologist Temperance Brennan (Emily Deschanel) and FBI Special Agent Seeley Booth (David Boreanaz).

From their first episode together, Brennan and Booth’s dynamic was electric, and while the will-they-or-won’t-they of it all took nearly seven seasons to sort out (more if you count that they don’t actually tie the knot until season nine), their relationship kept fans hooked for all 245 episodes. We watched Brennan wrestle with her feelings as Booth looked for love, saw them lay it all on the line only to yank it back again, and finally, at long last, got to witness their happy ending. Two kids and countless hurdles later, they’re still going strong.

So, as we say goodbye to Booth and Brennan – and the rest of the beloved “Squint Squad” – here’s a look back at some of the pair’s very best hours together:

This is overall a very nice list but look, they listed the series finale as number nine, saying: “Details TBA to avoid spoilers, but just trust us on this one.”
