Boat-Builders

Boat Builders
A Wilhelm Scream

Boat Builders by A Wilhelm Scream. This is a fucking great song.

“We are the lucky ones, we ain’t got it so bad

Baby, you go all in, sometimes you win

We will get up to get down

Keep the faith, sing loud.

We are the noise makers, the modern wayfarers

Here be no guts, no glory,

There be no guts, no glory

Tell me why’d I wait so long to break these chains around me?

Why’d I wait so long to take the reins of my life?”

Clan Surana vallaslin

Since everyone’s bloody doing it. Clan Surana has resided in the Antivan wetland since the fall of the Dales, and done so in almost complete isolation save from snatching elves who wander into the marshes seeking safety to bring fresh blood into the clan. Clan status: extinct. Notable figures: Leandaros Surana.
Various vallaslins presented by Leandaros Surana’s mother, Rho Surana, the bonded of keeper Meliaros surana and the First Hunter (default vallaslin Andruil)

Traditionally worn as follows, though not set in stone aside from Mythal’s and Falon’din’s and Dirthamen’s:

1. Sylaise - worn by the carers and the herb healers
2. Andruil - worn by the headhunters of the clan and sacrificial priests
3. Dirthamen for the auguries, mages who will not be keepers
4. Falon’din for the ones in charge of disposing of the dead, as well as hunters and mages who won’t be keepers
5. Elgar’nan for the hunters and terraformers
6. Mythal for keepers and their heir apparent
7. June for the scarce traders as well as builders and  boat builders
8. Ghilan’nain for those responsible for livestock

Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge - Ireland

This famous rope bridge in Ireland connects the mainland to the tiny island of Carrickarede. The original bridge was built over 300 years ago by locals looking to go salmon fishing on the island. Underneath the bridge are some small caves, which were used as homes of boat builders, and as a place to take shelter during storms.

There have been instances of visitors being too scared to face a return trip across the bridge, and a boat having to be called to remove them from the tiny island.

anonymous asked:

I want to found a viking tribe and go pillage and plunder along europes coast lines, just like in old times. Where to look for like minded peeps and where do I get a boat builder skilled enough to build a fleet?

I don’t know what in the world prompted this ask, but the answer to both questions is probably CostCo.

Take the Bugatti Chiron, a $2.6 million masterpiece in design and luxury. Only in the world of the super rich would a supercar this fast and this beautiful be an inadequate means of transportation. A Wilhelm Scream - “Boat Builders”

Phone it in again, another in the bank, I’m spoiled by the riches
I had a line to remember and I wrote it in the sand
Tried to go get it but the tide swooned

We are the lucky ones, we ain’t got it so bad
Baby, you go all in, sometimes you win
You bet

We are the noise makers, the modern wayfarers
Here be no guts, no glory
There be no guts, no glory
Tell me why’d I wait so long to break these chains around me

We share without knowing, screams soaring in every direction
We sweat like boat builders and marvel at our work,
Smiling at the imperfections

We are the lucky ones, we ain’t got it so bad
Baby, you go all in, sometimes you win
We will get up to get down
Keep the faith, sing loud

We are the noise makers, the modern wayfarers
Here be no guts, no glory
There be no guts, no glory
Tell me why’d I wait so long to break these chains around me
Why’d I wait so long to break these chains

Give them our regards out there
Tell them we’ll be back again
New Bedford, bury me somewhere near you

Smiling at the imperfections as they disappear over the horizon

From Rain City to Gainesville we ran
Then back to Melville again
With whiskey-soaked tales, half-forgotten
Still in the bottle at the bottom

Tell me why’d I wait so long to break these chains around me
Why’d I wait so long to take the reins of my life
Why’d I wait so long to break these chains
Why’d I wait so long to take the reins

We are the noise makers, the modern wayfarers
Here be no guts, no glory
There be no guts, no glory here

I’ve been guilty, I know it, believe me
I admit, I’ve been bored, I’ve been lazy
Down and out on Cherokee Street
Give our regards to them ‘til we return again
New Bedford, bury me somewhere near you

Somewhere near you
