Bedroom in Arles, 1889 | Musée d'Orsay, Paris

I have painted the walls pale violet. The ground with checked material. The wooden bed and the chairs, yellow like fresh butter; the sheet and the pillows, lemon light green. The bedspread, scarlet coloured. The window, green. The washbasin, orangey; the tank, blue. The doors, lilac. And, that is all.

Van Gogh painted his bedroom three times between October 1888 and September 1889. This is the third and final version. It is smaller than the other versions and was sent to his sister, Wil.

so being as in love with Van Gogh as i am, i hung up a print of Bedroom in Arles on my wall, and as i really looked at it i noticed something:

here’s the whole painting, right?

ok that’s all good and nice but if you zoom in…

oh? what’s that??

the little painting above looks like maybe this self portrait (but he did a lot, might be another one idk):

and the one next to that:

is most certainly (although there is room for mistakes) Portrait of the Postman Joseph Roulin, as seen below:

and the landscape which is on top of the bed:

is really hard to make out so idk for sure but maybe it’s this one??

Farmhouse in a Wheat Field, above.

i checked and the dates all add up, but if u have the 100% correct info please tell me!! also i am aware the Van Gogh is one of the most renowned painters ever so someone probably already noticed this but i just thought it would be cute to share with all of you :)
