What if Barry started doing that thing where he pushes down his feelings and acts like everything's fine until he begins to break down?
Barry knows Felix is able to be emotionless, so why shouldn’t he?
He tries to distract himself from the constant heaviness in his chest. He tries to distance himself from the others; when asked why, he just shrugs and says, ‘It’s nothing; I’m fine.’
As the other Grumps begin to move on, Barry falls deeper and deeper down a hole of grief. He’s been pushing it down and hiding it for so long, and it hurts more and more each day. How can the others move on so easily? How can Felix be so…empty? And why can’t Barry do what they can do?
Eventually, he breaks.
He’s on the couch, watching a movie, when one character (who reminded him of Kevin) gets killed off. He just starts sobbing uncontrollably, and everyone else in the room knows exactly why.
Cue lots of hugs from everyone and lots of explaining about how to healthily deal with emotions.
And Barry finally coming to terms with everything that’s happened.
Oh look more Markethyst hc's no one asked for haha. I was just thinking that Barry would probably be the next person Mark fused with. Because of his experience with fusion. Barry wants to show him it can be good. He also wants to see how his favorite quartz from centuries ago is really doing on the inside. They fuse, and Barry finds out how lonely and lost Mark has been. And Mark finds out the weight Barry's been carrying all this time. And it's a lovely little mutual healing/bonding session.
And what if Mark is really excited to be able to fuse with a Diamond? And not just ANY Diamond, his Diamond?
