Diesel Knows Groot Will Fight Hulk In Avengers: Infinity War
Vin Diesel warns fans that the Avenger and Guardian will probably duke it out when they cross paths in Infinity War.

We just got our first extended look at next summer’s “Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 2,” but Vin Diesel — who voices Baby Groot — is already looking even further ahead. Diesel wants his character to throw down with more than just space criminals and aliens. He wants to go up against the Hulk himself — and he just might get his wish.

While talking to Screen Junkies News at Sao Paulo’s Comic Con Experience convention, Diesel said that without a doubt, Hulk and Groot are going to fight at some point in the future.

“I know somewhere in the universe you’re going to see Groot and Hulk battle,” said Diesel. “You can write it [down] somewhere. You’re going to see that poster, Groot vs. Hulk.”

Back in August, Vin Diesel stated that the Guardians will appear in the upcoming “Avengers: Infinity War” — a film that will throw more Marvel characters into the mix than ever before. “[N]ow the Guardians will be included in ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ and that’s incredibly exciting,” said Diesel in August. “Incredibly exciting.” With that in mind, it’s possible that Groot and Hulk will cross paths in 2018’s “Infinity War” (or, possibly, the “Avengers” film’s untitled 2019 follow-up).

You can check out Diesel’s comments at the top of the video below.

Diesel also revealed in the video that James Gunn may want to do a Rocket Raccoon and Groot film, spinning them out of their “Guardians of the Galaxy” adventures. “I think if it’s up to [“Guardians of the Galaxy” director] James Gunn, you are going to see a Groot and Rocket movie after ‘Infinity War,’” said Diesel. “I think that’s highly possible. We shall see.”

Opening May 5, “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” also stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, Michael Rooker, Karen Gillan, Sean Gunn, Glenn Close, Elizabeth Debicki and Chris Sullivan.

“A lot of these people(veterans) come back and they don’t know how to function in the world anymore; the world is not embracing them in the same way. That was a big part of this character’s journey in this film: Understanding the world that he’s finally found himself in. How is he going to function there?”. Sebastian Stan.

Q: Did you have any rituals while putting on the costume, that helped you get into character? Sebastian Stan: “I played a lot of sound tracks from different movies. Also Daft Punk was huge for me and David Bowie and The Terminator soundtrack, believe it or not. I love music. You know, I’ve always wanted to do an ’80’s movie! I love that music!” (x)
