There’s just something I can’t describe about Bad//Dreems. On the face of it, the grunge-era slackery is familiar, there’s really no boundary-pushing at all, but there’s something that just makes me convinced they’re one of the best bands in the damn country. This one does it for me too, all raspy and leathery and battling and tired, but with that wry smile you get when everything’s crumbling around you and just stop fucking caring. Love it. Plus the whole thing looks like it was filmed on a 35mm and through the side of a burlap sack, which I’m always a fan of.
Last Thursday’s New and Approved guest was Ben from Adelaide based four piece Bad//Dreems. The band were halfway through their national up close and personal independent record store tour promoting the new single Dumb Ideas. You can check out the single above.
