This daring duo completed the ultimate father-son project: a backyard roller coaster. And now their busy building faster, bigger coasters for other families across the country.

The story is a simple one. When the son asked, “Why don’t we build our own roller coaster, Dad?” Dad obliged. Because he’s the coolest dad in town. The entire adventure is being documented on the Coaster Dad website. Coaster Dad and his son Lyle are like the Bill Nye of roller coasters – they’re breaking down the physics behind it all to make the journey as much fun as the destination, and what’s more fun than a backyard roller coaster?

I love my backyard. It may be small, it may be narrow and not very wide but I love spending every second I can out there! I know I am pretty limited as to what I can do to it so I have to be very careful not to make the garden look to cluttered and take advantage of all the real estate I can work with.

A lot of people think that you have to spend a fortune on a garden or back yard to make it look and feel like an award wining one. That is just not true. In fact, you can re-purpose a lot of stuff to make any garden look fabulous.

Over at buzzfeed they have 51 cheap backyard DIY projects that can make any garden look and feel like a space you would want to spend your days and evenings. I am always drawn to solar projects because I belive light is the key for a beautiful garden.
