“Opal’s Day Off” - Steven Universe #8

Now that things have calmed down a little after the Stevenbomb, here is my 4th guest comic for the Steven Universe comic from boomstudios!  This one definitely has to be my favorite out of the guest comics I’ve drawn.  I had a lot of fun with it from start to finish and I’m still thrilled I got to make an official comic featuring Opal!

I also had fun adding some extra little details to this comic, so see if you can spot them all!

Boom Box! Announces new series ‘Lumberjanes’

After the crazy first issue of Boom Box!’s first new series that was The Midas Flesh, they have just announced a all new second series called Lumberjanes.

This series, written by Noelle Stevenson and Grace Ellis with art by Brooke Allen, will focus on five girls attending a scout camp where there is some creepy stuff in the woods that they will probably have to fight.

The series is being billed as “Buffy the Vampire Slayer meets Gravity Falls,” and also promises that they at some point fight a yeti. If you are not on board yet, then I question your taste in awesomeness.

Lumberjanes is set to come out sometime this spring.

I kept forgetting to post this comic but I figured there’s no better day to do it than on Father’s Day!

Here is my guest comic contribution to the Greg Universe Special.  I had fun with it, especially with the colors.  I wanted to use a limited color pallet so that the pink moments would really pop.

I also scripted a second comic for the issue that was brought to life by the amazing coelasquid!  Here are some places to buy a physical or digital copy if you want to check out the rest of the Greg special if you haven’t already!

Seattle’s Emerald City Comic Con 2014 is just around the corner, and while I’ve been trying to figure out if I can make it to the very first Starbucks to complete my tour of original chain restaurant locations (I went to the first KFC back in 2005, there is a museum attached), the folks at Boom! Studios have been busy with a new set of variant covers! They’ll be offering a handful of Emerald City exclusive covers at the show, and they’re all pretty awesome.

Check our site to see the roster of ECCC variants, including a Nirvana-inspired take on Adventure Time, a new look at Lumberjanes #1, a Punch-Out!! homage for Regular Show: Skips, and a new cover for The Midas Flesh #1 by Sex Criminals artist Chip Zdarsky!
